Sex & Nudity

  • Pornography is mentioned in a episode in the first season.

Violence & Gore

  • In one episode a man hits his wife in the head with a crowbar, he then proceeds to chainsaw her in half, it is off screen but blood splatters onto a the window, probably the most violent scene in the series.
  • Most episodes begin with a depiction of murder. There is some occasional blood but rarely if ever is anything graphic shown.
  • The most graphic murders are only implied. For example, in one episode, a man gets his head crushed by an elephant, but it is off-screen. In another episode, a man is forced into a garbage compactor and is also off-screen, but we do see a lot of blood splatter on the wall.

  • The occasional "hell" and "damn", and stronger words, like "bitch", "ass" and "bastard", are sometimes (not often) used.

  • Mildly intense (and sometimes even disturbing) scenes are depicted often, but they are usually quick.
  • In one episode, a woman falls from a clock in a seemingly peaceful campus, and breaks the windshield. Jump scene.
  • There are many scenes of people trying to escape from people who are trying to kill them.
  • In one episode, Monk is being pursued by police after being framed for homicide.
