This is one of the 4 featurettes(and at 11 minutes, albeit the last one is credits, it's longer than the other 3 combined, which come to 8 and a half. The others go into, as titled, costumes, set design and the last is simply zombie camera tests) on the DVD(and apparently also the Special Edition & Deluxe Edition) for the original 2002 picture in the Resident Evil Collection(shouldn't it be Quadrilogy, like with Aliens? Did they expect Afterlife to be the last one they'd be able to make? ...y'know, I can actually see why, really, each of these should get people to give up on the series), which has the first four movies in the series, with extras for all, though not quite in equal amounts.

It's made up of film clips and interviews with the crew listed here on the page(well, the three of them, see next line). They talk about emulating John Carpenter(who I doubt is happy to be referenced or have archive footage featured... that's the thing with being an incredibly influential film-maker, sometimes, the person you inspire, is Paul W.S. Anderson) in the score. Electronic, tense. Manson describes wanting to make it different from his own music, but still exciting. Distinct themes to the various ones. Some biological, others fascist, or child-like. Approaching it from a scoring, not a song, point of view. Driving dogs insane(no, you read that right. I present it here, devoid of context). It an interesting watch, about one of the best aspects of the Milla Jovovich vehicle.

There is some swearing in this. I recommend it to those who want to know more about the series. 7/10

Wow, Manson proves his intelligence

I don't care for the majority of his music. However, he should score movies more often. His music was the perfect element for the type of atmosphere that this movie displays. His words in the featurette basically state what his goals were for the score, and they are right on target for resident evil. Anyone who sees an interview with Manson will quickly realize he is very intelligent. His music and very underdeveloped, aside from the mixing and writing. His stage presence is a joke. But, he does know how to mix. Therefore, he knows how to create a soundtrack for a movie. It's a shame he isn't on board for RE2. I think his talent lies here, in scoring, and he should pursue it more so the movie industry has another quality composer. I have no doubt that as long as he is on the same level as the director, his music will deliver.

Scoring Resident Evil is a pretty good featurette that can be accessed on the dvd of Resident Evil.In this featurette,they talk about the backround music that is featured in the Resident Evil feature film.They talk about the beginning scene,and the music that is being played in the backround,and they really describe everything well.The reason why this featurette is so good,is because they constantly play the music that was made,and the music was really good.Really there isnt much to say,except that Marilyn Manson and Tim Skold did a great job on the music. I give this featurette a 7 out of 10.
