Con Sawyer and Hucklemary Finnis an updated female version of the classic Mark Twain story about the friendship of boys. In this version Hucklemary is a welfare child and a devoted friend to Con Sawyer played by Drew Barrymore. This ABC special has nothing to do with ABC weekend specials and was shown in two parts. It was also made in 1986 NOT 1977 and it was Emmy nominated for outstanding writing in a children's special. Diane Silver was not only a producer she was also the creator of the special and one of the writer's. It starred Drew Barrymore.
