Exclusive: The inspiring story of Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin and his road back to football after nearly dying on the field last January will be turned into a feature film documentary. Did We Win will highlight the player’s miraculous recovery since stunning the NFL when he collapsed on the field and went into cardiac arrest during a Monday Night Football game last January, after sustaining a blow to the chest.
As his teammates wept, things looked dire as the game stopped for 10 minutes as shocked viewers watched medical personnel administer CPR and an Aed on the field to get Hamlin’s heart beating again.
Aside from the awareness that Hamlin has brought to sudden cardiac arrest, Hamlin might get an opportunity for the ultimate on-field redemption tonight when the Buffalo Bills play the New York Jets. Hamlin is expected to suit up and might play this evening, remarkable...

Brad Garrett has been tapped as host of the Writers Guild Awards in Los Angeles. A three-time Emmy winner, Garrett is perhaps best known for his role as Robert Barone on Everybody Loves Raymond. Should be interesting as host, as his stand up routines can be a bit on the raunchy side. The awards are set for Saturday at the Jw Marriott L.A. Live in downtown L.A. From today’s release: “Writers have always been the backbone of our business, and I’m thrilled to be able to celebrate their big night – plus, I have two hours left to complete my community service,” said Garrett on hosting this year’s WGA show. “We’re absolutely thrilled that Brad will be our host. With Brad, you not only get one of television’s great comedic actors, but also a fearless stand-up comic, a truly hilarious observer, and a consummate professional,...

Standing six feet and eight and a half inches, Brad Garrett is one towering -- and talented -- standup comic. Garrett has worked with everyone from Frank Sinatra to Diana Ross, but he's best known for his role as deep-voiced Robert Barone on the much-loved CBS sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond."
Now Garrett has a new show, "How To Live With Your Parents (For The Rest Of Your Life)," in which he plays Max, an eccentric stepfather. In last week's premiere episode on ABC, Max and his wife Elaine, played by Elizabeth Perkins, see their lives turned upside down when daughter Polly, played by Sarah Chalke, returns home to live with them. Chalke is a single, newly divorced mother of a young daughter.
Huff/Post50 had the pleasure of speaking with Garrett, who turns 53 on Sunday, about his career, his new show and his favorite pastimes.
Huff/Post50: So obviously you know sitcoms.

"My Wife and Kids" co-creator/executive producer Don Reo has joined Fox's comedy series " 'Til Death" as exec producer/showrunner.
Reo will oversee day-to-day operations on the multicamera comedy, recently picked up for a fourth season. He will be an exec producer alongside series creators Cathy Yuspa and Josh Goldsmith, who also have a new comedy pilot, "The Fish Tank," in the running at CBS.
The Sony-produced "Death," which has defied the odds with a string of renewals despite modest ratings, underwent a major creative retooling this season when its two-couple premise was dropped to focus on the older couple, Eddie (Brad Garrett) and Joy (Joely Fisher), and Eddie's brother Kenny (J.B. Smoove).
Reo has not begun to outline next season -- production on "Death's" third season wrapped last month -- but he plans to continue to "exploit the talent that's there and play on (the trio's) strengths."

A biopic of the Great One didn't rate for CBS. Gleason, the heavily promoted Jackie Gleason telefilm starring Brad Garrett, didn't generate much heat for CBS on Sunday against drama series competition. NBC and ABC tied for the win in the adults 18-49 demo on what was a lackluster night all around for the major broadcast networks. Fox's regular lineup was pre-empted for baseball playoff coverage. NBC's 9 p.m. drama Law & Order: Criminal Intent was the most-watched program of the night with an average of 14.4 million viewers and a 5.2 rating/12 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, according to preliminary estimates from Nielsen Media Research. At 10 p.m., however, NBC's Boomtown (10.8 million, 4.0/9) slipped to second place against ABC's The Practice (14.1 million, 5.9/14). And NBC's new 8 p.m. drama American Dreams (10.1 million, 3.8/9) saw its viewership slip from its previous two outings, but it did spike in the second half-hour.
