If You're Looking For PINOCCHIO or GULLIVER'S TRAVELS...
boblipton28 June 2011
If you're looking for one of the feature cartoons that Lantz' competitors in the cartoon industry were putting out at the time this short subject was released, this wasn't it. However, clearly Lantz had them in mind, as he managed to combine a cricket like Jimminy Cricket and a travel into a land of giants like the second book of Swift's GULLIVER'S TRAVELS into this one.

It's a little sweet to my taste. Tom and his cricket sail up in a wooden shoe and go looking for food, but there is one good gag sequence involving the cricket and some canned sardines. Not one of Lantz' best, even for this period but of intermittent interest.
