Striking!
To start off, I only saw a short clip. But I was surprised. Holly Woodlawn was part of Warhol/ Morrissey's b-movie (actual plots!) phase. Holly would hardly be seen as the prime candidate for a silent movie.
But Holly owns her performance, with her trademark beauty/ personality from the film Trash. The quality of this movie and the star's movements make this picture rival the best of Warhol's early films.
This film makes you wonder why Holly never appeared in more of Warhol's films. Or for that matter, why she never developed a larger acting career. There are many drag queens/transgender actors that have bigger careers, but none can rival the talent of Ms. Woodlawn.
