George Burns in Concert (1982)

*** (out of 4)

When I was a kid I really wasn't too fond of George Burns but as an adult I've come to really respect what he was able to do and for so long. This comedy special has him constantly talking about being 85-years-old and it's quite amazing to see how well he was doing at this point in his career.

This special runs just shy of forty-minutes once you remove the commercials and if you're a fan of the comedy legend then you'll certainly want to check this out even though it certainly falls short of being among his greatest work. Throughout the film Burns tells several jokes aimed at his age as well as his film OH GOD.

For the most part this was a fun comedy special that showed that Burns could still get the job done. There's a lot of name-dropping going on and this leads to one of the highlights when Burns talks about being at a party held by Vincent Price. There are several musical numbers done as well and this too was a lot of fun.
