Hilarity in the Sun!

Warning: Spoilers
Wow, this must be like the best-est film i've ever seen! From the hilarious melon sequence at the beginning (oh my melons!) to the accident with the avocado (don't forget to squeeze the avocados!) this film delivers on every level and a few others that didn't exist before this film was made, but now do, because of this film.

With glistering dialogue and top performances from the beautiful young cast and cameo performers such as the multi-talented Sadie Winters, every aspect of the production has been dealt with in the tiniest detail. Including the design department.

Plus Gary Busey is on amazing form as the bad guy, bringing a realistic quality to the film that lifts it above your average Baleric comedy romp.

Miss it at your inconvenience!

Spoiler: Uncle Sam is alive and living in Thailand!!!

Romance, Villains, Sun, Sex and Samba

Warning: Spoilers
This film is a joy to behold, it has everything from romantic locations and complex love triangles to car chases and jet ski shoot outs with an old fashioned caper plot to foil the villain and rescue the handsome heroes estranged high ranking diplomatic father from evil drug baron (Gary Busey in his best performance since Point Break). There is comic relief from two wonderful drag queens who foil the keystone-like cops with wily tricks of flames and flirtation, also a superb performance by leading man (Mack Astin) coping with all th problems of an American in a foreign clime.

I found the only thing that was lacking was a plot but otherwise fell that this film is a must for anyone who enjoys a good old fashioned romantic, thriller, crime, caper, comedy, coming of age film with plenty of scantily clad ladies and a thumping soundtrack.

This deserves a DVD release now.

This has to be one of the funniest multi-national action comedy drama crime capers set in Ibiza that I've ever seen. It's got everything in it. Some superb photography, hilarious set pieces (the statue gag is a classic), slightly questionable art direction (why all the chiffon?) but above all a wonderful effort.

Gary Busey steals every scene he's in, apart from the ones featuring the fabulous Mike Burnside (I loved that teeth gag). Only someone as seasoned as Martin Cove could have bettered Busey in this I think.

If anything, what the film really needed were more whip-pans and musical montages, then I would have given it a straight ten out of ten.

However, the witty dialogue is just pucker, the action scenes thrilling (how did they do that with the melons? CGI?) and the splendid music by Hard-Fi's Richard Archer gives the film a real kick.

All in all, this film is Wicked The Movie! Oh, and did anyone else notice the sublime cameo from Yeti front man Harmony Williams as the thieving hippy?
