Beautiful story of love in later life and the French love of food
fgey13 June 2004
Luis who lives alone at 73 meets Margot on the bus. They notice each other and begin to talk. Then they begin to eat together at a cafe run by a Caribbean woman. One thing lead to another and they marry. I won't tell you how it ends, but the ending tells the centrality of food in the life of the French people and how it contributes to their "joy de vivre". We saw this on the late-night TV in a lovely two star hotel in the Port De Orleans area of Paris without benefit of subtitles. Though neither I or my wife understand French, we understood what was happening and were uplifted by this movie. If you get a chance, see this movie. If you are Canadian, double see this movie.
