SLipKnot Rocked!
orale_vato_loco9 October 2006
Im a huge fan of slipknot but i hadn't really got into them until IOWA came out. After i heard IOWA and had my ass kicked by the awesome tracks i decided to hear the first album which was still as good as IOWA. When The Subliminal verses came out i was stunned you could see how the band have evolved together with their songs. One of their best songs in my opinion is Duality but the whole album is fantastic. Most of the other albums had great songs still my favorite IE: Wait and Bleed, SPit it out, Liberate,Purity,Eyore, heretic anthem,Sic its safe to say i love all their songs lol. I had seen their video clips heaps of times and wondered if any concerts were around so i went looking and what did i find Disasterpieces. Now to be honest listening to their albums i would have expected a complete bad ass concert and it was better than that it was F**KING AWESOME. Corey is an absolute gun and sounded great live, the band were nuts not to mention Sid jumping off of platforms and during heretic anthem while the fire and pyro is going off he stands in the middle of it. He's a nut case, Shawn and Chris on percussion were like machines the whole show.Joey like always is just one of the best I've seen on drums not much action from Craig on samples but u can still see him in the background keeping busy. Mick And James were great and the whole performance was 2nd to none. I highly recommend this to any Slipknot fan or anyone else who want's to see a bunch of 9 crazy guys do what they do best 10/10

A DVD every Slipknot fan must watch
sheercold61929 June 2008
Disasterpieces offers a look into the chaos that is Slipknot live. They perform the very best songs off of the "Slipknot" and "Iowa" albums, including a rarity; Purity, a song that was removed from "Slipknot".

The performance is covered by over 30 different cameras, and is filmed in the London Arena. The first disc covers the entire performance; From the band preparing for the show, to the band getting onto the stage, to the start of "People = Sh*t", and to the final song, "Surfacing". The 15 songs performed are as follows; "People = Sh*t", "Liberate", "Left Behind", "Eeyore", "Disasterpiece", "Purity", "Gently", "Eyeless", "My Plague", "New Abortion", "The Heretic Anthem", "Spit It Out", "Wait And Bleed", "(sic)", and "Surfacing". You get a look at the action from the sky, on the stage, and even from inside the masks of the members of the band. The second disc covers a ton of special features, alternate camera angles, and it includes a couple of music videos (Of the songs "My Plague", "Left Behind", "Wait And Bleed", the animated version of "Wait And Bleed", and "Spit It Out"), and a video clip of the song "Purity".

You get to everything; and everyone at work. You see Joey drumming, Corey singing, Mick and James on their guitars, Paul on bass, Sid working the turntables, Shawn and Chris on custom percussion (and, at times, singing back-up vocals), and Craig sampling. The performance is wild, like every Slipknot performance, the crowd is energetic, and the guys perform the songs flawlessly.

The piece left me extremely satisfied, and I'd recommend it to anyone that loves Slipknot like I do.

Best Concert DVD Ever
FrighTy23 June 2004
First off, anyone who said that the concert was too dark on their TV either got a bootlegged copy or has one crappy TV.

OK, this two disc set is a must for anyone who likes SlipKnoT or heavy music in general. I know it's been said already, but I want to get the point across. The videos on disc two are amazing, with every video through the release of Iowa; including both versions of Wait and Bleed, and the director's cut of Left Behind.

Now for the main reason to buy this DVD. The concert from start to finish is out-freaking-standing. Sid's leaps from higher points on stage, Shawn and Chris making percussion evil, Joey is god-like on drums, Mick and James are like twin powerhouses on guitar, and Corey's voice is the instrument that brings it all together. Combining all these on-stage elements with some of the best editing and camera work I've seen in any kind of film (no, really!), makes for some the heaviest hitting songs I've ever seen or heard. Log off your computer right now. Go on, do it. Now head to the store and pick up Disasterpieces. Stay (sic).

9.0 and Disaster
cjfort7 June 2006
The best live DVD i have ever seen in my life by one of my favorite bands ever is a must buy. If you have the 9.0: Live CD from Slpknot, you already have the sound to it.

Me and my friends all bought Disasterpeices, and of course loved it, and then bought the CD, and noticed almost half of the songs (or more!) were actually just the Disasterpoeices DVD just without picture.

There are many special features on the DVD such as: Live performances - 10/10 Videos - 8/10 Alternate Camera views - 5/10 there are a few more, only i don't remember them. But over all, the performances are amazing, but his singing isn't the best, but that's because of their masks and Corey's tired vocals. They only sound bad on the live CD.

Warning: expect profanity, and lots of it!

a look at the past and future
j-baeta1 March 2007
I gave Disasterpieces nine out of ten. Yet I think it deserved ten.

The boring part: this is has a superb live show in London, and a collection of all (in 2002) their music videos. If you want the greatest live show on earth (Slipknot, obviously), you've got it here. If you want all their music videos (including the two Wait and Bleed videos and the director's cut of Left Behind) in one place, look no further.

Now comes the interesting stuff (to me, at least). To anyone else, 2002 was just 5 years ago, but to Slipknot it's a lifetime ago. In an interview in 2004, Corey Taylor (singer) said that he couldn't watch Disasterpieces because he feared he would have a panic attack. Such is the intenseness of the Disasterpieces. You see, in the "Iowa period" things weren't going in the right direction. The backstage crew (most of which doesn't work for the band anymore) were working against Slipknot, not for them. Slipknot was, quite literally, on the highway to hell. By 2003, the members hated each other, and the world started chanting "the end of Slipknot" as if it were fact. And for the nine masked madmen, it did feel like it was over. True fact: when Corey decided to make "the call" (the "I'm quitting the band" call), the other line was busy. This is, to a certain degree, the reason why Slipknot is still around. All one has to do is watch Disasterpieces from beginning to end, and consider the aforementioned events, and they'll have a front-row seat view of the decline of music's most intense band. This is an utter must for any Slipknot fan, especially those who've already seen their latest DVD, because it chronicles the final part of the end of Slipknot, and is an important part of the band's history.

In 2002, Disasterpieces sowed the seeds of Slipknot's destruction. In 2007, it sows the seeds of the destruction of a monster called Iowa, and the rise of god called Slipknot.

Welcome to insanity in its purest shape
Aarseth172125 November 2005
Never have I seen such a intense and tight live DVD as this one! Slipknot is known to be one of the loudest and fastest band around, and they certainly prove this on Disasterpieces. Shot in London with thousands of dedicated fans, it couldn't possibly go wrong, and it definitely didn't! The set list is based around their earliest recordings, the self titled debut Slipknot from 1999 and IOWA from 2001. Usually, it can be a bit boring to have so little songs to choose from, but in Slipknot's case, it's no problem at all, because both albums are very good. From the very first tune they play, the crowd in London, and also you, get psyched to a ecstatic level. Never have extreme music been this good on a DVD recording! They never rest, and keeps on pumping out agony and hate for nearly 2 hours. Many times when you listen to this type of music, it has a tendency to get boring and similar after a while. Slipknot is not one of these cases. When the last song is through, you wish that it continue, but it's sadly enough over.

As bonus on this DVD you get some promo videos that are fairly cool, but not so much more is to find on the two discs. But hey, this release is ESSENTIAL and should be found in every metal lovers DVD collection.

Slipknot is the best live band ever!
Pcarla4328 June 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Heavy Metal is defined in this concert that slipknot performed. The way the band started the show with people = S**t was what really got me hooked on this and was just the first song. Blasting out their early songs like spit it out and liberate shows that they can get a crowd to go ballistic. Corey Taylor's vocals and screams, Mick and Jim's Guitars, Paul's bass, Joey's solo, and Shawn,Sid,and Chris's crazy performances are some of the craziest things I have ever seen. Shawn Crahan's way of entertaining is amazing and the stage moves that Jim root was pulling off shows that you don't have to constantly stand still on stage. The pyro techniques of were set at the right moments and livened up the performance even more than it was. Slipknot was able to get to people in London to go crazy just goes to show that they are capable of getting any crowd in any city to lose their minds. The final song to be played was just perfect and was as Corey said our new national anthem. This DVD sets Slipknot apart from all the poser bands.

An absolutely stunning recording of one of the best Slipknot concerts!
Corbish3 March 2003
This DVD takes you through an entire concert back to front, it is recorded and put together in such a way that I cannot describe. The producers should be congratulated on their efforts! The songs are mostly from the album IOWA. If you are a Slipknot fan then this is a MUST-SEE because it really is something unique!

Despicable
EuropeanQoheleth16 January 2024
As if the constant negative reviews and far right hyperbole weren't enough fedor8 now for some reason is stooping to dumping on people's appearances. When you're in a hole, stop digging; don't point a high-powered drill at the earth and drill to the earth's core. If ever there was a case for an account being banned it's his. I have enough problems without constantly running into his tiresome, opinionated rants which I doubt anybody else appreciates either. When does it end? Why can he not realise his ''efforts'' aren't achieving anything? Have you no restraint? At long last have you no decency left sir?
