Sony Pictures will release a new Blu-ray of the Ben Stiller-directed, Jim Carrey-starring dark comedy The Cable Guy on March 1st, 2011. The film was much-hyped due to Carrey’s first $20 million paycheck, which was an exceedingly high payday. After the successes of Ace Venture and Dumb and Dumber, it felt like a no-brainer, but the film barely earned $60 million at the B.O., and was critically panned.
Oh, how time has been kind. The film’s dark tone has been re-evaluated and given the proper praise since. The disc will house some good extras as well:
* Gag Reel
* HBO First Look
* Comedy Central Canned Ham Presents: The Cable Guy
* Basketball
* Medieval Times
* Breakfast
* Ending Mud Fight
* Karaoke Alt. – Bust A Move
* Nightmare Camera Test
* Leslie Mann Audition
* Music video: Jerry Cantrell, “Leave Me Alone”
Don’t you get it? Someone has to save all the other cable boys and girls,...
