It's only January 14, but I guarantee that the 2013 Golden Globes will be the best awards show of the entire year. Why? Because the Golden Globes are gloriously useless, and its attendees are aware of that fact. That's why everyone onscreen appears to be having a great, fun time filled with unrehearsed moments. The Golden Globes combine the gaudiness of "Night of 100 Stars" with the hilarious posturing of a student council election. Frankly, we should call them the Pia Zadora's Choice Awards. Respect. Or don't! Both options are completely acceptable and fun.
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were your ravishing emcees, and I'd hate to regurgitate what everyone has said (and has been saying) about these deeply, heroically funny women, but whatever: They were flawless. Sharp, gentle, biting, and irreverent, and always at surprising moments. I slapped the wall during the opening monologue (duologue?) when Tina said that Ricky Gervais...

Norby Walters is not necessarily someone I would want to be friends with. For starters, he’s a sports agent. Despite my raging “Plantar fasciitis,” I am no athlete. Back in 1988, Norby was convicted of fraud and racketeering after he signed college players to professional sports teams before it was legally allowed. Despite my penchant for Scorcese crime flicks and a dude I once made out with who just got out of Rikers, I don’t often associate with criminals. He also kind of looks like my cousin Edith who passed away years ago. I loved Edith but there’s only room for one in my heart. And yet, taking allll of these things into consideration, my mind is made up: I want to be friends with Norby Walters. Why, you ask? Simple. Judging by the characters who attended his 22nd Annual Night Of 100 Stars Oscar Viewing Party, he...

Dallas alumna Charlene Tilton is singing the praises of TNT’s upcoming reboot of the long-running primetime sudser, yet thinks it needs just a little something — namely her troublemaking tart, Lucy.
“I read the script for the first episode and it is absolutely wonderful,” Tilton told TVLine at the annual Night of 100 Stars Oscars viewing party. “It’s going to be fabulous.”
In addition to a “next generation” cast headed by Desperate Housewives alum Josh Henderson (playing J.R.s son, John Ross), Chase‘s Jesse Metcalfe (as Bobby and Pam’s son, Christopher) and Jordana Brewster (as a...

The prognosis is looking grim for the Chief’s ailing wife on Grey’s Anatomy.
Loretta Divine confirmed to TVLine at Sunday’s Night of 100 Stars Oscar party that viewers will be seeing a lot more of Adele as the season progresses, all but confirming that the character’s recent memory issues will turn out to be early-onset Alzheimer’s.
“I’m booked for about five episodes,” she confirmed. “Adele and Richard are going through a real crisis.”
Of course, said crisis is further complicated by the fact that the Chief’s ex-lover (and Meredith’s mother) also battled Alzheimer’s.

Mondays tend to suck. Let’s see what I can do to make yours a bit better with a flurry of scoops, teases and sound bites from some of TV’s hottest shows and stars.
A Kiss Is Just a Kiss…? | Apparently there is no such thing as a run-of-the-mill episode of CBS’ The Good Wife, because this Tuesday’s hour raised my eyebrow at least twice. For the case of the week, you have Ken Leung delivering a nicely understated performance that’s a far cry from Lost’s Miles, plus there’s a nifty callback to a previous episode.

One-time Hollywood 'It Girl' Ali MacGraw realised she was no longer considered a Tinseltown beauty when she was handed a hideous gown and placed at the back of a line for a TV gala.
The Love Story star's ego took a hit when she showed up for a 1980s The Night of 100 Stars gala and realised she was no longer in the same category as the actresses of the day.
She recalls, "Everybody you ever heard of (was there). They featured people we know and love - Linda Evans, Joan Collins, Angie Dickinson... and we were given dresses to wear and we were given ways of walking out.
"At the point I was given the worst dress and I was, like, number 299 walking across Radio City (Music Hall) I got it... I felt like a loser."
And MacGraw admits she started to think she was less than she had been when she was one of Hollywood's most in-demand stars a decade before.
She adds, "The ego is such a trick, I just lost myself in that moment of 'What do they think...?' Nobody was counting off the people. It was very self-centred.
"So I got really loaded that night and woke up next to somebody I hadn't planned to spend the night with... It was total ego."
Shortly after that moment, the actress retreated from Hollywood and set up home in New Mexico.

Yes, another Oscar story, but you'll like this one! I promise. Guru-ish awards reporter Pete Hammond viewed Sunday's Oscarcast at the "Night of 100 Stars" Party -- which usually turns out more like the "Night of 12 Stars, 58 Character Actors, 17 Has-Beens, 12 People You Secretly Expected to See in the 'In Memoriam' Montage, and Pete Hammond" Party, except this year there was news. And it may be the Rosetta Stone to help decode where Avatar went wrong on its march to Best Picture.

What better place for Tiger’s alleged porn-star mistress to issue a statement than a major Oscar party?
Some big names showed up for Norby Walters’ Night of 100 Stars Oscar Viewing Gala at the Beverly Hills Hotel last night — oh, and Tiger Woods‘ alleged porn-star mistress Joslyn James was there, too! With lawyer Gloria Allred by her side, Joslyn gave a statement to the press, saying, “I just wish Tiger, Elin, Sam and Charlie the best and I hope that they can find happiness and move forward throughout all this.”
Gloria also had a few statement to make about her client, including that Joslyn is “looking forward to being on The Howard Stern Show in the future.” She also acknowledged that there are other women who have come to her for representation, claiming to have slept with Tiger — but she said she doesn’t comment on how many women she has represented.
