Although Delsin Rowe was the ultimate focus of inFAMOUS: Second Son, he wasn’t alone in his quest to rid Seattle of the anti-conduit Dup military corporation. In fact, the beanie-wearing, one-liner touting superhero was provided with new powers and abilities by strangers met along the way, including a girl named Fetch. She, with her neon-infused powers and love for badass graffiti designs, left the biggest impact, provided what is perhaps the game’s best power and ended up becoming the eye of our protagonist’s affection.
Now, months after Second Son brought its breathtaking visuals and action-packed gameplay to the PlayStation 4, Fetch is back in the game’s first piece of standalone Dlc, which is appropriately titled inFAMOUS: First Light. This time around, however, she’s the main focus and character, after playing second fiddle before. That’s because the fifteen dollar, 6.5 Gb download exists as a way to tell her backstory.

According to an official Tweet from Ubisoft, Watch Dogs’ gravel-voiced protagonist Aiden Pearce could be leaving the Windy City come fall, as the company hinted that the game’s first batch of downloadable content will take place in Camden, New Jersey.
Along with the tease, the Twitter page stated that: “Our data indicates surveillance has become more prominent in high-crime areas.” While vague, the message may give an indication that Ubisoft is prepping to introduce players to new game mechanics; after all, hacking your way through various gang hideouts in the core campaign became very tedious, very quickly.
Much like with the initial reveal in 2012, Ubisoft appears to be marrying the tech-infused narrative of Watch Dogs with official criminal statistics for that added dash of realism — in this case, the hyperbolic crime rate of Camden, New Jersey.
Dubious crime figures aside, however, it’ll be interesting to see whether the...

It seems that Sony’s planned gamescom 2014 surprises have been let out of the bag early, now that the Internet has gotten hold of a list that briefly appeared on the tech giant’s event page. What’s so notable about this leak doesn’t have anything to do with a previously unannounced triple-a title or anything like that, though; instead, fuss is being made over the fact that indie darling Journey is being ported over to the PlayStation 4, along with other notable PlayStation 3 downloadables.
Not only will Journey make the jump from last-gen to current-gen, but ports of Pix the Cat, Hustle Kings and The Unfinished Swan also seem to be in the works. They’ll be joined by a multitude of other games at the convention, including big guns like The Order: 1886, Destiny and Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes, as well as Pixeljunk-related Nom Nom Galaxy and Ps Move spook show,...

From the looks of things, inFAMOUS: Second Son will receive First Light, its first standalone Dlc expansion, on August 26.
Although an official release date has yet to be confirmed by Sony, a listing has quietly popped up on the PlayStation Store. According to it, the story-based add-on will arrive close to the end of August, bearing a $14.99 price tag. This information may not be entirely correct, though, so take it with a grain of salt for now.
If you haven’t heard about it before, inFAMOUS: Second Son‘s First Light add-on centres upon Fetch, Desmond’s neon-throwing friend and love interest, who played a large role in the game’s core campaign. Within the expansion’s narrative, the troubled and tortured young lady will be forced to relive unpleasant memories from her time spent in a special prison that was built to house gifted people with special powers.

Also being released is exclusive bonus content for customers who own both First Light and inFAMOUS Second Son. Abigail “Fetch” Walker is back — and her story is not an easy one to tell. There is heartache, drug abuse and abandonment. Playing as Fetch, you’ll experience the events that transform her into the conduit you met in Second Son. You’ll see her cope with life in Curdun Cay (the high alpine prison) after being captured by the Dup, and experience what happens when her brother Brent goes missing – and how far she will go to find him. The big conferences have kicked off E3, and we take a look at what Sony had in store for us...
News
Sony's E3 conference was a veritable game-fest, with a slew of new announcements, some expected, some rumoured, and others that surprised us. It was a good overall showing, and one that certainly didn't hold off on big reveals and updates.
Big hitters we already knew about were given pride of place ahead of their respective launches. Such triple-a's as Destiny, The Order: 1888 and Far Cry 4 were highlighted, with Far Cry 4 offering he ability for friends to jump into your game even if they don't own a copy. Battlefield: Hardline got a new trailer, and looks suitably impressive, as did the new trailers for Batman: Arkham Knight (with PS4-exclusive Scarecrow content) and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Mortal Kombat X also threw its punches.

Taking to the stage at Sony’s E3 press conference this evening, Sucker Punch’s Scott Rohde announced the maiden Dlc pack for inFamous: Second Son. Entitled First Light, the add-on is in fact a standalone content pack — in a similar vein to inFamous 2’s Festival of Blood — meaning you don’t have to own the game itself to access the recently announced expansion, and is pegged for release this coming August.
In terms of story, First Light will focus on one Abigail Walker, also known as Fetch, and will likely chart her rise to fame as a neon-powered conduit. And in order to provide us with a gist of the new content, Sony published this brief synopsis:
“Locked up in a prison for super powered humans, Fetch Walker is forced to relive tragedies from her past. Unravel her dark secret in Seattle while battling to escape snowy Curdon Cay...

While we’re out chasing news, the press releases keep coming. Deadline broke news last March that Mel Gibson would star in the Jean-Francois Richet-directed Blood Father, and the news today is that Worldview Entertainment will co-fi and produce the drama, which Peter Craig adapted from his novel. Gibson will play an ex-con who reunites with his estranged wayward 16-year old daughter to protect her from drug dealers who are trying to kill her. Filming just started. Wild Bunch will handle international sales here and CAA is repping domestic… Kathryn Bigelow and Zero Dark Thirty backer Annapurna’s Megan Ellison are reteaming on an adaptation of The True American, a nonfiction book by journo Anand Giridharadas that has Tom Hardy is set to star. Bigelow will direct and produce the film through her production shingle, First Light. The deal was announced here at Cannes. Like Zero Dark Thirty, this has 9/11 overtones.

Welcome back to France, where being a royal is as difficult as it is sexy, and there are two ways to die: Either The Darkness gets you, or Henry kills you after (or during) sex. I don’t know about you all, but if I had to go, I would choose option B every time (and maybe twice). Then again, The Darkness only kills those who see it, so perhaps I would just shut my eyes and go hang out with Leith. But enough about me, let’s get down to business! The episode kicked off with a bang — get it?...

Lola's on the hunt for a husband on The CW's "Reign." Her one-time dalliance with Prince Francis -- her Bff Mary's now-husband -- led to an unplanned pregnancy, and now the lady in waiting needs to find a suitor so the future king of France doesn't realize the consequences of their night together.
Zap2it spoke with Anna Popplewell about her character's next moves, which involve trying to get the heck out of French court.
Zap2it: Poor Lola. Of course this happens to her.
Anna Popplewell: When I read it I was like, "She's definitely going to get pregnant." That would just be typical. Think of all the unions that happen on this show, how many people have had sex with other people -- of course Lola was going to get pregnant when she slept with Francis.
How did you feel when you realized what was going to happen?...

"Lola is going to get married before the end of the season." And guess what? It could happen as early as tonight. Reign, officially the craziest show on TV and we love it. Now that Lola (Anna Popplewell) has a royal bun in her oven, courtesy of a one night stand with Francis (Toby Regbo), she and a "very hurt" Mary (Adelaide Kane) decide the best way to hide the pregnancy is by finding Lola a husband. Asap. Enter: the First Light ceremony, which will be at the center of tonight's episode of the CW hit, "The Darkness." "It's a pretty urgent situation for Lola," Anna Popplewell previews. "She has a ticking time bomb in her belly right now. There's a...

Into Film, a new UK-wide film learning programme, has launched.
Shakespeare comedy Bill, starring the cast of Horrible Histories, has been confirmed as the first film to take part in Into Film’s initiative ‘Green Light to Opening Night’.
The initiative will allow a selection of young people from schools and colleges across the UK to observe and report on different aspects of the film’s life from start to finish. Each area from behind-the-scenes will be turned into a series of video reports and interviews led by, featuring and presented by young people, allowing them to ask the questions they want to ask.

Speculation continues as to who will take on the role of 'Batman' in director Zack Snyder's developing 2015 feature "Batman Vs Superman", playing against "Man Of Steel" actor Henry Cavill.
Some industry trades have suggested that Jeffrey Dean Morgan ("Watchmen") will play an older bagged-out 'Caped Crusader', even though Morgan's headlining series "Magic City" was recently cancelled after a 2-season run.
Another actor in consideration to play the 'Caped Crusader' is 6' 3" Sam Heughan.
Heughan played 'Bruce Wayne/Batman' in Warners' "Batman Live: Arena Tour" and recently snagged the coveted role of long-haired Scottish warrior 'Jamie Fraser' in the upcoming Starz TV series "Outlander", adapting the New York Times best-selling book series.
Heughan is a graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and a 2003 nominee for the 'Laurence Olivier Award' for 'Most Promising Performance'.

Withdrawal of funding by Cinema First is said to have led to charity's closure, with all 15 staff to be made redundant
The privately funded charity Film Education has announced it will close this week after 26 years, leading to the redundancies of all 15 full-time and part-time staff.
The organisation, which provides curriculum-based teaching resources, teacher training and cinema-based events across the UK, says its closure is the result of a withdrawal of funding by its main backer Cinema First. The film industry-backed organisation is believed to be transferring its resources to two publicly financed organisations, Filmclub and First Light, which are currently vying to secure the £28m National Lottery-funded BFI 5-19 film education scheme for the next four years.
Film Education, which launched in 1985, has received backing from film-makers such as Bend It Like Beckham's Gurinder Chadha, Richard Attenborough and Boy in the Striped Pyjamas' Mark Herman, as well as critic Mark Kermode.

First Light is an organisation that importantly encourages young filmmakers under the age of 25, and helps to develop their talents.
Their annual awards ceremony returned to London this week, when the winners of the 2013 First Light Awards were announced. The young filmmakers were given the opportunity to walk the red carpet in style at the Leicester Square Odeon, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Olivia Williams, Rafe Spall, Jason Maza, and Joely Richardson.
All of the above were on hand to present awards at the ceremony; a perfect example of how our current industry should be (and, clearly, are) helping to nurture the talents for the generations to come.
Because, let’s face it, if you’re presented with an award from Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg for Best Comedy, or the Best Drama from Chiwetel Ejiofor and Joely Richardson, then you know you’re doing something right.

Dear Sos reader/listenership:
With Christmas approaching, and with Sound on Sight turning three years old (and yes, I know Iceage are pictured above holding four candles – deal with it), I thought it appropriate to create a “present” of sorts to thank everyone for their support, attention, and feedback. Earlier this year, partially thanks to my involvement with Sos (and the associated time commitments), I decided I had to step down from my volunteer position at Cjlo 1690Am here in Montreal, where I had been maintaining a weekly music show for several years – but that doesn’t mean I’ve stopped keeping tabs on what I consider to be the best music of the year. So, in order to keep one foot in the music world, I started keeping a longlist of my favorite new tracks, with the ultimate goal of making a kickass year-end mix for you all.
Which I’ve now done!

Barbara Broccoli, who produces the James Bond film series with her step-brother Michael G. Wilson, has won a major libel case against British tabloids that implied she had improperly diverted money for independent film projects into her own coffers. Broccoli, who sits on the board of the UK Film Council, was involved in raising money for a charity called First Light. The Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday newspapers alleged that Broccoli had used public money intended for First Light to help finance personal movie projects. Broccoli brought a libel suit last August. The Mail and Mail on Sunday were forced to admit that the allegations were completely untrue. They have agreed to pay Broccoli a substantial, but undisclosed, amount in damages. Broccoli says she will contribute all of the awarded money to the film charity she was falsely accused of bilking. For more click here...

Papers to pay damages after false claims that Barbara Broccoli misused public funds through film-making charity
Barbara Broccoli, the producer of the James Bond movies, on Wednesday accepted substantial undisclosed libel damages from the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday over false claims that she misused public funds.
Broccoli, who is working on the 23rd Bond film, brought libel proceedings in London's high court over articles in the two Associated Newspapers titles last August.
Her solicitor, Michael Skrein, told Mr Justice Tugendhat in the high court that they were "deeply upsetting" and harmful to her reputation.
Skrein said Broccoli was chair of the board of directors of First Light, a registered charity enabling young people, including those who were disadvantaged and disabled, to create digital film and media projects.
The articles suggested, as a board member of the UK Film Council, she had improperly awarded herself or First Light a huge grant of public money.

Alex MacQueen scores a hat-trick, and the zest of youth that has nothing on the teachers
Hat-trick hero
It's a feat even Zelig couldn't pull off. English actor Alex MacQueen is not just appearing in Woody Allen's latest release, You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger (as publisher Malcolm Dodds) – he also has cameos in two other British films that hit the screens last Friday. He pops up in Chalet Girl, as a lecherous hedge-fund manager getting an embarrassing ski-sunglasses tan. Plus he makes the final cut in one scene of Adam Deacon's Anuvahood, playing a posh man living in a big house opposite the west London council estate where the action takes place.
Appearing in three films in a single week is possibly a record for a British actor. There must be a multiplex somewhere showing all three and it may seem that MacQueen is there in person,...

Alfonso Cuarón's 2004 fantasy triumphs at First Light awards, voted for by children aged five to 15
There is no place for Adaptation, In the Mood for Love or Hidden, while There Will Be Blood and Borat, the Guardian's top choices, are also conspicuous by their absence. Instead, the latest attempt to pinpoint the top films of the last decade has resulted in triumph for wizarding tale Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
Alfonso Cuarón's fantasy beat off competition from Shrek, Whale Rider, Happy Feet and Up at the First Light awards in a poll conducted entirely among children aged five to 15. Speaking at the ceremony at London's Odeon cinema in Leicester Square, producer David Heyman said it was an "honour and a privilege" to receive the award. "It's especially exciting and moving to be voted film of the decade by children aged five to 15," he said. "We made...

If you (like me) have long been saying that "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" is the best of the "Potter" films, then the young voters behind the First Light Awards would agree with you.
A group of children aged five to 15 who are in association with the BAFTAs Kids' Vote organization voted "Prisoner of Azkaban" as the film of the decade for the First Light Awards, BBC News reports. The other movies in the voting pool were "Shrek," "Whale Rider," "Happy Feet" and "Up."
Okay, so they aren't saying definitively that "Prisoner of Azkaban" is the best of the best "Potter" films, though through the transitive property of awards shows, we can assume that if "Prisoner of Azkaban" was the "Potter" film picked to be the top five films of the decade and then it was voted as the film of the decade, then obviously it has to...

Back in the days of Hollywood yore, studio mogul Adolph Zuckor had a mantra that went “the public is never wrong”. Bare this in mind when it was recently announced that Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was voted as “film of the decade” at the First Light Awards.
Producer David Heyman picked up the award at the ceremony held in London’s Leicester Square and said:
“It’s especially exciting and moving to be voted Film of the Decade by children aged five to 15. We made the film for children of all ages from 5 to 105 really, but clearly a core part of our audience is young people and to be honoured is a privilege.”
Of course awards are handed out willynilly these days and the Potter film directed by Alfonse Cuaron was voted for through BAFTA. Clearly the kids aged 5 to 15 are total lunatics with no taste, but...

Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban has been named the Film of the Decade at the First Light Awards in London.
The third installment in the wizard franchise, starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, polled the most votes in a poll of children aged five to 15, seeing off competition from other family-friendly films including Shrek, Happy Feet and Up to take the title.
Producer David Heyman was handed the award by actress Clemence Poesy, who plays Fleur Delacour in the franchise, during the ceremony at the British capital's Odeon Leicester Square on Tuesday night.

Star Wars actor Ewan McGregor is to swap starfighters for Spitfires as he flies in vintage planes for a new BBC film about the Battle of Britain.
McGregor, who played Obi Wan Kenobi in the space saga prequels, will take to the skies with his Raf pilot brother Colin for the one-off BBC1 documentary.
The pair will relive the experiences of young airmen to find out what it was like to live through the days of the historic air battle.
Their programme is part of a season to mark the 70th anniversary of the Second World War air campaign.
The brothers will fly in the fighter aircraft of the time to taste the pressures and strains of air combat, and compare skills with those of modern jet fighter pilots.
McGregor, whose previous TV travels have been on his motorbike, said: "The Battle of Britain was a dramatic turning point in...
