Money talks, and right now it's saying The Revenant and Leonardo DiCaprio are going to win two of the Academy Awards' biggest categories. OnlineGambling.lv recently released the odds on who will take home Oscars this Sunday night. Based on the results, Kate Winslet and Sylvester Stallone should start making space in their trophy rooms. The gambling review site's picks for Oscar winners aren't just based on personal favorites, but how the nominees performed at previous awards shows, like the Golden Globes and BAFTAs. Along with odds for each category, there are also numbers on whether or not Lady Gaga will have a wardrobe malfunction,...

Every year, The Hollywood Reporter pulls back the veil by allowing a few Academy members to anonymously reveal their Oscar ballots and the reasons for those votes. Every year, it's illuminating and maddening. This year is no exception. The Oscars will be handed out this Sunday, February 28 on ABC, and voting is now closed. It seems like Leonardo DiCaprio is a lock to win Best Actor for "The Revenant" but at least one Academy member openly voted against him.
This particular Oscar voter shared his ballot with THR, revealing films he didn't even see (including "Mad Max: Fury Road") and admitting that he hated "The Revenant" so much he voted for "Mad Max" in one category "solely because I want to stop The Revenant." He had some valid (and funny) points to make in his distaste for "The Revenant," arguing that Leo's Oscar campaign is based around how hard...

Folks, we have another huge weekend ahead of us. This one, frankly, may very well decide the Oscar race. Yes, the Screen Actors Guild (or SAG) will be having their awards show tomorrow night, with the acting races, as well as Best Picture, potentially set to be decided. With really one exception, I have a strong hunch that what wins at SAG will go on to win with the Academy next month. As such, not only will you see what I think SAG will do, but also what I feel are the current Academy Award results (it is Friday, after all). Busy day, I know. SAG really will decide if The Big Short is running away with the Academy Awards ceremony or not. Also, it will likely solidify impeding Oscar wins for Leonardo Dicpario in Best Actor and Brie Larson in Best Actress. Furthermore, it could finally provide a Best Supporting Actress frontrunner.

In season 3, Da Vinci's Demons is getting harder and harder to follow...
This review contains spoilers.
3.5 Anima Venator
Da Vinci's Demons has been kind of problematic for me throughout its third season thus far. It seems like everything is different, all the ideas of the first two seasons are just scrambled up to make everything a muddled, grey mess. Are the Sons of Mithras the bad guys? Are the Labyrinth bad guys? Sure, when you look at the surface, it's the bad guys like Carlo Medici and Riario involved in the Labyrinth and the Sons of Mithras have Leo's old ally Al-Rahim Aka The Turk (Alexander Siddig) and the true pope, Francesco (James Faulkner). However, one side is fighting to defend Italy and the other wide is actively assaulting and killing the people of the peninsula and by extension the Catholic Church.

This review contains spoilers.
3.3 Modus Operandi
There's a murderer loose in the Vatican, and he's leaving messages for the faithful within the walls of the building with his kills. Fortunately, while Pope Sixtus is busy poking caged Turkish men with his sword—not a euphemism—and enjoying hot blood baths, he's got his top men on the case. Those top men would be everyone's new favourite buddy cop duo, Leonardo Da Vinci and Count Riario. That's right, they're back and partnering up again to save Christendom.
The two of them together is one of the show's strongest pairings, even stronger than Leo and Zo. Riario was a great antagonist for Da Vinci, and he's an equally great partner in crime as the show's constant collection of...

Following a record-breaking release in the Us last weekend, Joss Whedon’s masterful adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing arrives on our shores today. And if you’re heading out to the cinema over the weekend, make sure you see this film, because it is a true work of art.
The film reunites Whedon with a lot of his past collaborators, with Amy Acker and Alexis Denisof leading the cast as Beatrice and Benedick; Fran Kranz as Hero opposite Jillian Morgese as Hero; Clark Gregg as Leonardo; Sean Maher as the villainous Don John; and Tom Lenk and Nathan Fillion as the comedy duo of Verges and Dogberry.
I was fortunate enough to be at the film’s world premiere out at the Toronto International Film Festival last year – you can read our five-star review here – and was even more lucky enough to sit down with Amy Acker and Alexis Denisof...

The CW’s fall schedule is interesting to say the least. Supernatural is moving to Tuesday, following The Originals. Historical soap Reign gets the prime post-Vampire Diaries slot while The Carrie Diaries gets exiled to Fridays.
Meanwhile, Warehouse 13 isn’t the only show to get the cancellation/renewal notice. Nikita will also get a final, six-episode season. And now I have “For Now” from Avenue Q stuck in my head.
The Tomorrow People, one of The CW’s many sci-fi series this fall.
That gets io9 to ask, “How did the CW become The go-to network for fantastical television?” Sure, its the child of the network that gave us Charmed and the network that debuted with Star Trek: Voyager (who eventually took turns airing Buffy and Rosewell) but it always had a mix of genres. Not only will the upcoming season feature more sci-fi and horror shows than any other network,...

Finally some of the demons mentioned in the title of Starz's "Da Vinci's Demons" rear their ugly heads in this Friday's Episode 1.03, "The Prisoner," and we have a preview of what's coming.

Born in the middle of the 15th century, during the Renaissance, artist and visionary Leonardo da Vinci was one of the most brilliant and restless minds of a glittering and restive age.
One would think that sticking 100 percent of the time to the facts of the life of a man described by contemporary Giorgio Vasari as having a "beauty of body never sufficiently extolled," an "infinite grace" and "great bodily strength," with a "spirit and courage ever royal and magnanimous" would be enough for a dramatic cable series.
And that's not even mentioning the major works of art he's known best for: the enigmatic portrait "Mona Lisa," the reverent and yet dynamic "The Last Supper," and one of the most famous pen-and-ink drawings of all time, depicting the beauty of proper proportions, called 'Vitruvian Man."

British actor Tom Riley is set to become the latest star to play Leonardo Da Vinci onscreen after signing on to play the artist and great thinker in TV mini-series Da Vinci's Demons.
The project will be Riley's break-out role in America following a series of British TV hits and series creator David Goyer insists he's got the right guy.
He tells Deadline.com, "Given that da Vinci was the model for the Renaissance Man, these were incredibly large shoes to fill. Leonardo had to be smart, witty, and incredibly confident - without coming across as arrogant.
"He also had to be tormented, because, as a true visionary and polymath, he was ostracised for his ideas as much as he was celebrated. Tom came in and was able to effortlessly combine all of those elements. As soon as he finished his audition, we knew we'd found our man."
Riley joins Mark Rylance, Philippe LeRoy and Nick Roberts among the actors who have portrayed Da Vinci.
