From military tanks, luxury cruise ships and extreme thrill rides to sky scrapers and suspension bridges, the world is full of modern marvels. Architect Danny Forster braves great heights and huge depths to explore some of the world's most head-scratching buildings in this new series of Extreme Engineering. What's fascinating about the series is that each new construction - from tunnels outside Los Angeles that are being built more than 300metres beneath a mountain range, to a 700,000metre sky scraper in Spain covered entirely in glass and stone - stretches the definition of what's possible as designers and engineers breathe life into the most extreme construction projects ever conceived.
