These days, Snoop Lion (formerly known as Snoop Dogg) is serious about spreading a positive message, but he hasn't done away with his sense of humor.

The rapper-turned-reggae artist released Pocket Like It Like It's Hot (a remixed video version of 2004's Drop It Like It's Hot) earlier this month, and on Tuesday he spoke with ETonline about making the video as well as Reincarnated (the documentary which follows his spiritual awakening in Jamaica) and whether or not he'll ever make another rap album.
ETonline: Who came up with the idea for the [Pocket Like It's Hot] video and how did it come about?
Snoop Lion: They approached me about it, and we put a team together (like Andy Milonakis around it and a couple other people that I had trust and faith with the comedy side of what I do). I liked the idea and, you know, went...

Snoop Dogg is bringing his...um, acting talents to NBC, where the multi-platinum rapper has just sold a family comedy he's slated to produce and star in. Snoop developed the series with "My Wife and Kids" creator Don Reo, who will serve as the show's writer and executive-producer. As we previously mentioned, Snoop Dogg has worked fairly extensively in television before, including his E! reality series "Snoop Dogg's Father Hood" and "Doggy Fizzle Televizzle", a short-lived sketch comedy series that he produced and starred in for MTV in 2002. The rapper will star as a father in the new sitcom, which is...

Back in June, we were lucky enough to have been visited by Vernon Chatman, the creator of Wonder Showzen, Doggy Fizzle Televizzle, Xavier: Renegade Angel, and, I found out, the voice of Towelie on South Park. He came with his bizarro-masterpiece Final Flesh, which was actually the first ever theatrical exhibition of the film in its entirety.
Well, that experience was so awesome, even prompting Terror Tuesday Host/Alamo Programmer Zack Carlson to proclaim Final Flesh “The Film of the Year!” There was such an uproarious clamor for a repeat showing that we had to engage it for a special screening. This coming Wednesday, Final Flesh will be back, for the second-ever and possibly the last-ever showing.
Were you not part of the lucky few who got to glimpse part of heaven and most of Hell at the first Final Flesh showing? Here’s the skinny: Final Flesh is not exactly a film,...

Next Wednesday, we’re doing a special screening of the film Final Flesh. The writer, Vernon Chatman, is going to attend and provide his bizarre insight into this very unique project. You probably haven’t heard of this thing, and that’s ok. I’m here to straighten it out for you.
Final Flesh is not exactly a film, at least not in the traditional sense. It’s four short films based on a common premise and shot by four different “crews.” The plot, if you can call it one, is a twisted nightmare: Two women and one man are facing the end of the world.
Chatman wrote four scripts and submitted them to specialty adult-video companies that cater to homemade scripts for niche fetishes. Rather than send a typical dirty scenario, however, Chatman wrote non-sexual, apocalyptic stories that the barely-capable actors and filmmakers then adapted into short, made-to-order videos.

Considering how ubiquitous and consistently excellent he has been for the length of his career, it's easy to take Snoop Dogg for granted. But you shouldn't, because not only has the man born Calvin Broadus released some of the most iconic hip-hop tracks of the past 20 years ("Gin and Juice," "Murder Was the Case," "Drop It Like It's Hot," "Beautiful" and "Sensual Seduction" among them), but he has also been a movie star ("Starsky and Hutch," "Bones"), a TV icon ("Doggy Fizzle Televizzle" and "Snoop Dogg's Father Hood") and a master of the endorsement (which run from St. Ides malt liquor to Snoop-themed action figures).
He wasn't always a media mogul. In the beginning, he was just a hungry kid with a unique flow who rapped all over Dr. Dre's The Chronic. He still has that same voice (it's a rare mix of hard and sweet that few others...

Television world may lose Oprah Winfrey for daytime but it may gain Snoop Dogg. The rapper has projected an interest in having his own talk show premiered after Oprah steps down from her throne in 2011.
"I'm trying to proposition the networks right now. If you're wanting to hire a nice black exciting young male who wants to turn the TV world right up - get at me," Snoop gushed. "I heard Oprah Winfrey is leaving and there ain't nobody do what Oprah did but ahem - hello! Hello!"
To make sure he covers every area, Snoop is planning to bring in the women factor into his show. "And I can bring my wife on so we can have the women and the men on there discussing things," he said.

The ‘Signs’ rapper claims he is the ideal candidate to take over from the legendary talk show host when she stops making her self-titled programme in 2010.
He said: “I’m trying to proposition the networks right now. If you’re wanting a nice, black, exciting young male who wants to turn the TV world right up – get at me. “I heard Oprah Winfrey is leaving and there’s nobody who can do what Oprah did but, ahem – hello!
