teen beach flick with a twist
chadflan18 March 2004
SCORCHED is a teen beach flick with a twist. Its the last day of highschool and everyone has their own agenda. The two buxom high school babes are out to snag the local jocks, but the jocks have their sights set a little higher. Meanwhile, an oddly matched computer nerd and his free wheeling sidekick are out to score with anyone who will give them the time of day. The story and dialogue could have been stronger, but there is enough T&A to keep hold at least the male audience's attention. The relatively unknown cast is fair but the supporting performances by Gary Busey and Andy Dick add significantly to the picture. Overall, the lighting and visual style combine to make it a decent video rental or late night TV viewing option.

Good Revenge of the Nerds Style Thriller/teen angst
fanfilm18 March 2004
Saw this Film at an AFM debut. Even though there was an equipment error which affected the sound at the screening. The films style, acting, and story was enough to keep the audience watching till the end. Normally not the genre I go for, but this one was unique in that despite its typical beach film elements, i.e. lots of eye candy; the story was more about pre-college angst and overcoming high school stereotypes. Clearly, its geared more toward teens and college kids, but its not bad for the adults either.

Excellent film!

I saw this film at AFM. The film was amazing and I loved it! The script was rock solid and the acting was great. I really loved it and would recommend this to anybody! At AFM, the room we watched it in, the screen and projector and sound were off due to the AFM team. With so many films going on, they provided this movie with the worst equipment possible! When we looked past that, it was one of a kind! I loved how the script and the actors worked together. I was amazed at how Gary Busey and Andy Dick worked so well together in the movie, though they were in different scenes. Dont forget Canadas star, Daniella Evangelista. It is definitely going to be a movie that one will like!
