We should go ahead and rename December 12th “Arrow Video Day,” because the fine fiends over there have a ton of titles coming out this Tuesday, including Special Edition sets for The Premonition and Malatesta’s Carnival of Blood, and they’ve also put together standalone special edition Blu-rays for both House and House II: The Second Story. Severin Films is resurrecting Asylum this Tuesday, and fans can finally get their hands on the latest season of Game of Thrones, as well as a box set featuring every episode from all seven seasons.
Other notable releases for December 12th include K-Shop, Once Upon A Time at Christmas, Brackenmore, The Snake Woman, Beware the Lake, and Hollow Creek.

If you’ve got candles, Nashville fans, now would be a good time to light ’em.
Because Rayna Jaymes, the First Lady of Country Music and keeper of Deacon Claybourne’s heart, survives an attack by a crazed stalker in this week’s episode… only to be involved in a terrible car crash in the hour’s final moments.
It doesn’t look good for Rayna as the episode closes, and that preview of next week’s installment isn’t very comforting, either. And I don’t care how...

"This is your chance to make a real difference." Lucasfilm + Disney have revealed the first 30-second TV spot for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, directed by Gareth Edwards, the upcoming Star Wars solo spin-off movie arriving in theaters in December. There's just about one month left to go until this opens and it looks totally spectacular. I'm very excited to see it, I still have high hopes, and I especially can't wait to meet this team of heroes - every one of them looks like they bring something unique and inspiring to the team. I'm still partial to Donnie Yen as Chirrut Îmwe (and Jyn Erso), but they all seem awesome. Starring Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso, as well as Mads Mikkelsen, Ben Mendelsohn, Forest Whitaker, Diego Luna, Jonathan Aris, Riz Ahmed & Alan Tudyk as K-2So. Join the rebellion this December. Enjoy. Last Tuesday night was the premiere of Nicolas Winding Refn’s latest film “The Neon Demon,” about a young, aspiring model (Elle Fanning) who breaks into the L.A. modeling world only to find a cabal of beauty-obsessed women who want to tear her down limb from limb and take what she has. The film had it world premiere at Cannes and received a decidedly mixed reception, but now the film will enter theaters next week and the public will come to their own conclusion about Refn’s horror film about beauty.

At the premiere, star Elle Fanning told Variety that she was drawn to the film because of its horror features, and especially the chance to delve deep into a role not usually assigned to her. In fact, she took her character to an even darker place than initially envisioned. “I think everyone has a side to them that is a little darker,” she says. “Going to that place was actually very, very fun and we made her a little bit darker than the script was initially.”
Elle Fanning has been acting since she was three years old, making star turns in films like Alejandro González Iñárritu’s “Babel” and Sofia Coppola’s “Somewhere” at a young age. She played the main love interest in J.J. Abrams’ “Super 8,” and Sleeping Beauty in “Maleficent.” She’s also set to appear in Mike Mills’ latest film “20th Century Women.”
“The Neon Demon” will open in theaters on June 24th.

"Soon, I will rule all the world...!" Lionsgate has unveiled their 60-scond Super Bowl TV spot for Gods of Egypt a bit early, for those who want a closer look before the Big Game starts. Gods of Egypt is the crazy epic action-adventure movie from Alex Proyas involving lots of white actors playing mythological Egyptian gods, and the first few trailers haven't been that great as the footage looks insane. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau stars as Horus, the one with the eye patch, and he's joined by Gerard Butler as Set, Brenton Thwaites as Bek, Rufus Sewell as Urshu, Geoffrey Rush as Ra, Abbey Lee as Anat, Courtney Eaton as Zaya, Elodie Yung as Hathor and Chadwick Boseman as Thoth. Is this looking any better? Or much worse? Less than a month now separates us from Season 4 of Game of Thrones. If you don’t have time to rewatch Season 3 to prepare, HBO has very kindly provided us with a where-we-left-off synopsis below, followed by a lengthy list of returning cast members and a reminder of their roles, a list of several newbies and a quick word about who they play.
After all that come the somewhat spoilery synopses of April episodes. They’re pretty vague, but it may at least indicate who survives from episode to episode. I’m happy to report that there will be at least one Hodor sighting, but I’m not telling when; you’ll have to look for yourself.

With 111.5-million U.S. viewers, and a further 7.3-million in Canada, Super Bowl Xlviii was the most-watched in history. The commercial spots were the most expensive for any TV broadcast in any given year, and there were plenty of big name stars and A-list directors who helped create these very expensive advertisements. John Hillcoat, director of The Road, helmed the spot for Coke. The minute long ad featuring a multilingual rendition of “America the Beautiful” was refreshing to many, but left a bitter taste in the mouth of conservative pundits. Bruce Willis and Fred Armisen get close for Hyundai, and prolific music video and film director, Mark Romanek (Never Let Me Go), re-teamed with U2 for the Bank of America “Invisible spot”(Romanek directed U2 in an Apple commercial in 2004). The small screen rarely attracts this many big screen filmmakers in one night, so we decided to vote on our...

In recent history we've seen John Lasseter step in and take away directorial reigns from Brad Lewis on Cars 2 and then Brenda Chapman was ousted from the director's chair on Brave and replaced by Mark Andrews with Steve Purcell given a co-director credit. Many would argue these are two of Pixar's worst films and in my opinion Brave is their worst film. Well, it seems there are some issues in the house of Pixar yet again. A couple weeks back Disney held their D23 Expo and featured new concept art and information for their upcoming film The Good Dinosaur, which was to be directed by Bob Petersen who was given a co-director credit alongside Pete Docter on Up. However, Petersen wasn't on hand to present the footage that was shown, instead a newly announced co-director, Peter Sohn, and producer Denise Ream handled those duties. The Good Dinosaur was originally...

Have you fully recovered from last week’s episode of Game of Thrones yet? Our friends at Where Monsters Dwell pointed out in this week’s radio show that the second to last episode of each of the three seasons of Game of Thrones has been a giant. They aren’t the only ones I’ve heard say that last week’s episode felt like a finale. The shock spread around the internet and the country like wildfire.
So, what’s coming in the finale? Will it be like previous finales and be quieter? Or will the devastation continue? We have a TV spot for the upcoming finale, after the featurettes about last week’s carnage:

With only two more episodes left in this third season of Game of Thrones, expect the epic to reach new heights. Why, watch these featurettes and preview, of course.

“We’re still casting more than we’re killing,” says Game of Thrones co-showrunner D.B. Weiss, and we have the featurette that makes a good case. It’s a wee bit spoilery, if you’re sensitive to such things, as it includes some storylines and characters we haven’t yet seen, but I find it very helpful, as one of those who hasn’t read the books.
Before we get to that featurette, however, we have a Recap and an Inside the Episode featurette for last week’s show, plus a TV spot in advance of the upcoming episode. Enjoy:

In the latest TV spot for Oblivion, we have Morgan Freeman doing what he does best as he narrates, and he’s letting Jack (Tom Cruise) know that there’s a lot more happening below the surface than it seems. Somehow the more I see from Oblivion, the less I understand what is going on.

Universal has released a new 30-sec. TV Spot for their upcoming sci-fi action film “Oblivion” starring Tom Cruise. The film is from Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski, who also created the graphic novel upon which the film is based.
“Oblivion” also co-stars Morgan Freeman, Olga Kurylenko, Andrea Riseborough, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Melissa Leo.
Tom Cruise stars in “Oblivion,” an original and groundbreaking cinematic event from the director of Tron: Legacy and the producer of Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The good people at HBO‘s Game of Thrones have seen fit to keep us well fed on TV spots and trailers while we wait and wait and wait for the Season 3 premiere at the end of the month. Today we have two new TV spots and one new trailer for you to feast upon, and dragon fans like me will not be disappointed.
Watch them in order, because the second TV spot is longer than the first and includes most of the first but adds to it, while the trailer uses all of that and adds still more. The best dragon footage is in the trailer. And…. go!

Most of us have heard at least a little about “chaos theory”. It is, in fact, the story of our lives for some of us. But hopefully none of us feel that the Game of Thrones version of chaos theory is fully applicable in our lives. Beautiful Creatures will be hitting theatres over the Valentine’s weekend next month, bringing a new franchise to the big screen for Warner Bros. from the young adult fiction market.
We’ve seen plenty from the film already to suggest that it will be opening big at the box office next month, and following on from the latest TV spot last week, the studio have now released a minute-long, extended spot to give us another good look at the upcoming blockbuster.
“A supernatural love story set in the South, “Beautiful Creatures” tells the tale of two star-crossed lovers: Ethan (Alden Ehrenreich), a young man longing to escape his small town, and Lena (Alice Englert), a mysterious new girl. Together, they uncover dark secrets about their respective families, their history and their town.”

Fans of Dead Like Me, Wonderfalls and Pushing Daisies packed a small room at Comic-Con Saturday to hear Creator Bryan Fuller talk about his Munsters reboot and the Hannibal Lecter project he has in the works for NBC.
The panel began with a 4-minute sneak peek of Mockingbird Lane, the reboot of the classic black and white series that NBC ordered to pilot as a possible midseason show. It begins with a pack of scouts sitting around an evening fire in the forest, when something evil this way comes: A big black wolf jumps into the fray and takes out most of the little fellers.

That episode was disturbing. Not that most of the others aren’t, but yikes. I nearly had to draw the line at torture by rat, but like Daenerys, I persevered and was rewarded by witnessing the birth of… what was that? But of course I can’t stop now, not with that out there.
