My main reason for watching this movie was Lana Parrilla. I love her and figure anything with her in it is good. It was an overall good movie, though it did have sort of that awkward over-dramatic acting in it occasionally. I have to say, I'm not a crier; but I started tearing up at the end. The end is pretty unexpected. To sum up the movie, Lisa and her friends are your normal high school seniors who have jobs and boyfriends and what-not. They're all going through one thing or another with their families. Lisa played by Lana Parrilla, is your average senior at high school who has just gotten accepted to Harvard. Her family has some struggles with this for some odd reason (most likely to keep the movie going). She has a boyfriend who treats her like a princess and wants to marry her but she wants to leave for Harvard and her parents think he's bad news anyway. She then finds out she is pregnant and debates whether she should stay and raise a family with him or "get rid of it" and go to college to become a lawyer. This movie really reflects on friendship and family, and just how far your friends and family will go for you. The end definitely depicts that. I couldn't find this movie anywhere but finally found it on youtube. Just type in "Frozen Stars 2003" and you should see part 1.

I really loved this film. It is an older movie but the content is great and I still think that it is relevant in today's day and age. I watched it because I am a Fan of Lana Parrilla and the film did not fail to deliver. The message was clear and inspirational and I would also like to say that I think it's completely underrated.
Great movie

I watched this movie because of Lana because I absolutely love her, and it was a good guess actually! This movie is very good, characters are quite likeable and the storyline is interesting. Lana is amazing in this movie, as usual! It's worth it

I only watched this because of Lana. The music is overly dramatic, at time reminiscent of a bad porn flick. The acting is also a bit over the top, but the story is sound. The characters are mostly likeable. Bottom line, Lana is fabulous as always, so it was worth a watch.
Amateurish

Warning: Spoilers
With a plot that would have given Douglas Sirk a hard time and a presentation below that of Ed Wood's; "Frozen Stars" has the feel of watching a student film from someone who will drop out before the semester ends. Think of watching the cheapest hard core porno film ever made. Then cut out anything remotely sexy (yes, I know this film includes a rape and a miscarriage), and it will probably be of a higher quality film than this.
Most of the performers come from the eyebrow and talking loud school of acting. The cinematography is flat to the point of being nonexistent. The scenes are basically in master shots with all actors facing three- quarters to the camera.
I have nothing against no-budget films. In fact, when they show imagination and talent; I would rather watch them than a multi-billion dollar vacuous blockbusters. But this...? It's just...amateurish.
