Sex & Nudity

  • A man is lying in bed and shows that he has a erection under the blankets.
  • Several scenes of explicit male graphic nudity and some strong sexuality.
  • Several scenes include topless male and female nudity and breast groping, caressing etc.
  • A woman colors and dries her pubic hair (frontal top view, no genitalia shown). A man approaches and begins caressing and kissing her.
  • A naked man is seen, fully frontal, in the bathroom. He is also shown urinating. He gropes two women.
  • A major theme of the movie is attractive women becoming the mistresses of Nazi officers, and being treated by them rather casually, in return for presents and lifestyle amenities.
  • Men and women in a crowd are forced to take off their clothes. When a woman refuses, a man strips off her shirt.

  • A young man smokes a cigarette and a young woman asks him for one.
  • Many people drink champagne at a fancy party.
  • Several men drink gin from a bottle, and another man accuses them of being drunk.
  • Characters are often seen smoking and drinking.
  • Several people get drunk at a party. One party gets wild, with men groping a woman's bare breasts and pouring alcohol down her chest.
  • A man uses alcohol to ease pain of surgery. The bottle is then shared by some other characters.
  • Use of choloform is attempted twice.
  • One character tries to covertly murder another character by insulin overdose.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A nazi plane drops a bomb on a Dutch farm. A family is still inside. No bodies are shown, but the scene is very shocking.

  • A group of Jews seeking to escape Nazi-occupied Netherlands are discovered in a boat at night and brutally machine-gunned.
  • In one scene, a number of civilian war prisoners are humiliated by being forced to strip naked. The contents of a large vat of feces are dropped over a topless woman.
  • A man is intentionally and graphically suffocated in a fake coffin.
