Here's a phantom train ride, as they were called, of.... well, the train from Monte Carlo to Monaco. Sometimes in writing these reviews I state the obvious. In this case, it's because the title is really the description.
The first thing you notice is the rocky cliffs to the left of the line, the buildings that crowd the route, and finally, the short length of the ride. I'm going to posit that the line continued on at great length, to Nice and Italy, even in the days this was shot. It doesn't look like a new railroad cut.
It also reminds me of some of the driving scenes in TO CATCH A THIEF. Did they convert some of the rail lines to roads, or is all of the area like that?
