Years after Voyager's return to the Alpha Quadrant, Admiral Janeway goes back in time so she can right a few wrongs.
The plot isn't the best and it tries a bit too hard to be like "All Good Things" but it has strong enough moments that elevate it to a pretty satisfying conclusion. I would imagine the more pedantic of sci-fi/Trek buffs would rip the plot to shreds for a number of reasons, the main one being the time Admiral Janeway picks to intercede. It would have been nice if she'd done it a bit earlier and saved a few more lives, but hey ho, it didn't bother me that much.
What made it enjoyable for me is that Janeway needed a strong finish to a the series after Seven's introduction and it is a brilliant Janeway episode. Katie Mulgrew gives one of her strongest performances playing two versions of her character. Also, Tuvok, Tom, B'Elanna, The Doctor, Seven, Chakotay and even Harry Kim all have excellent moments to end their run.
I did feel the hairs on the back of my neck stand up during the final sequence, which means it was well made enough to bring an emotional response out of me. That doesn't happen very often, so congratulations to the writers, film crew and stars for a job well done.
