This is one of six films included in the collection "The World According to Shorts". For the most part, this is not a particularly good set of shorts, as I have seen many others with more memorable content than this rather disappointing DVD. "La Perra" translates to female dog or bitch. There is a decent amount of nudity, so be forewarned.
The film begins with a middle-aged couple making love. They are interrupted when the new maid rings the doorbell. From the second the lady of the house sees the new maid, she hates her and assumes she's a thief. While she then lies in bed complaining about the maid, the husband is intent on picking up where they left off before her arrival. The wife seems pathologically paranoid as again and again throughout the film she complains about the maid every time she comes--during which time the maid appears to have nothing wrong. Later, she and her husband take to leaving out money--hoping they can catch her stealing. When she does not, the wife insists only because she is too sly and is out for a bigger prize.
Overall, I wasn't exactly sure what the intent was for the film. It seemed like a comedy about the strange sexual turn-ons of this couple but it didn't seem all that funny or rewarding after it concluded. It just left me feeling a bit indifferent.
