Quotes
-
Hercule Poirot : Love is not everything.
Jacqueline De Bellefort : Oh, but it is. It is. You must know that. Surely you understand.
Hercule Poirot : It is terrible, Mademoiselle, all that I have missed in life.
-
Jacqueline De Bellefort : It's so dreadfully easy, killing people, Monsieur Poirot. You begin to feel that it doesn't matter.
-
Jacqueline De Bellefort : She has taken everything from me, Monsieur Poirot, and I want to hurt her; to put my gun against her head, and gently pull the trigger.
-
Dr. Bessner : Doyle is ready to see you.
Jacqueline De Bellefort : Is he all right?
Dr. Bessner : Of course he is not all right. You shot him!
-
Linnet Ridgeway : God, what were they actually for?
[gesturing to a sphinx statue]
Simon Doyle : I never really thought about it. Perhaps they were their equivalent of garden gnomes.
Jacqueline De Bellefort : Nice try Simon, but just a little wide of the mark. The sphinx was, in fact, a monster from Greek mythology, with a woman's head... see? And a lionesses' body. And it said - oh, don't you want to know?
[as they walk away]
Jacqueline De Bellefort : It said riddles for travelers... and killed those who got them wrong.
-
Jacqueline De Bellefort : Well, isn't that fascinating... The goddess Hathor was a beautiful woman with the head of a cow. Still, I suppose it's better than being a cow with the head of a beautiful woman. This place is simply drenched in historical goodies like that!
