International recognition for a documentary film maker's first feature shows promise
Madwand9 June 2004
Winner of the Target Filmmaker Award for Best Narrative Feature at the 2003 IFP-Los Angeles Film Festival and an Honorable Mention in New American Cinema at the 2003 Seattle International Film Festival, Crude was also an official selection at the 2003 Torino and Stockholm Festivals. The film offers a bold, satirical look at globalism and media manipulation of perspective. The film is Paxton Winters' first full-length feature, further establishing the reputation for bold work, quirky satire and innovative productions that he earned with his earlier documentary films.
