This little slice of life shows us some kids, bag-boys at a local urban grocery, trying to cope with the heat on the hottest day of the year.
When an old woman promises one of the kids a large tip for delivering her groceries then fails to come thru, the kid takes his own cool revenge. His revenge also helps him to save a playmate from a cutting threat.
The portraits are well drawn and the dialogue is realistic. Overall the short is made with workmanlike competence but don't expect any "great themes" or messages in this little snapshot, It's too hot for that today. Not a bad short by any means. I look forward to seeing what the director does next.
