The movie is based on the novel Nynnes Dagbog (Nynne's Diary) which is based on a series of stories based in the Danish newspaper Politiken about a woman in her thirties who is not too pleased with her life. Nynne has been compared to Bridget Jones.
The studio wanted someone famous in the title role as Nynne, but Jonas Elmer disagreed. He thought many people would have different views on Nynne's look, and therefore decided to cast an unknown actress. The role went to Mille Dinesen, this is her first feature film.
The filming was a good experience for Mille Dinesen, who, however, found it somewhat borderline to have to appear naked in the film. - "I was going to make these scenes with Jimmy Jørgensen and Ole Lemmeke. I just had to swallow four times before I threw away the dressing gown."-she says. The film does not leave many square centimeters of Mille Dinesen's body that you do not get to see. When she found out she was going to be naked in the movie, she sat with a pen and stroked off all the places in the script that she should have talked to Jonas Elmer about. - "It was like that, so it did not just suddenly come when we were on the set. Hey, you have to be naked in this scene. We had talked about every single detail. What one was allowed to see and not allowed to see."
