- It is mentioned in federation scans that a lot of the men went insane, several bodies of federation members can be seen.
- In a Luminoth scan you discover some of their soldiers where children and killed in combat however this is not shown.
- There is shooting, killing alien monsters throughout the game. (Occasionally blood can be seen.)
- There are constant dead bodies throughout the game, however these are always the bodies of aliens or of humans entirely in suits, so these bodies merely look like creatures laying down. Blood is shown throughout the game, however it's discolored alien blood. Some of the aliens explode and body parts are shown to fly through the air briefly.

- The "Game Over" screen when the player dies is very disturbing. If your energy depletes, a cutscene shows Samus dying of a heart attack, along with loud beeping sounds and a hellish red color scheme. This may frighten young audiences.
- Many of the aliens in the game can be seen as very frightening, as well many areas are very dark, and the music and sound effects can be considered very creepy. Upon death it shows an X-ray of your character that includes showing a heart beating fast, and then stopping as well as your character screaming in pain.
