Practice movie for young actors...

The story line is completely implausible. The law just does not work this way in Australia... With that said...the acting was amateur, the filming wasn't bad and there was a little bit of suspense. The movie itself never climbed out of the mediocre category and isn't really worth an hour and a half of your life unless your bored and can't find anything else. It looked, sounded and smelled like a practice movie for young actors. As it goes...none of the young actors seem to amounted to anything since this movie was made.

Rapid fear of disappointment

All the characters were thoroughly unlikeable, especially the guys. The ending made no damn sense to me. This could have been a much better film if they have thrown in a few Australian dangerous creatures especially snakes and crocodiles, maybe some dingos; also some insane asylum miscreants that were left over from the abandoned facility. If given a choice to watch it again I wouldn't.

A bit rushed in the beginning but got better.

After serving 10 years for bank robbery,James(Peter Kent) an ex con gets a chance at parole and is teamed up with 6 young offenders in a rehab program designed to frighten the streetwise youths into going straight.The're dropped in an isolated forest to travel down river by raft.But someone,or something doesn't want them to survive...... When I went to rent this movie Rapid fear the first thing the guy behind the counter said was that it was a very bad movie and I would hate it.He said it was so bad he turned it off after about 10 minutes.Later that night I tried to read reviews on it on here but there was none,so mine is the first.It definitely sounded like a good movie by the description.I also noticed it was Australian and I really loved the Australian movie "lost things". Rapid fear is set against Australia's breathtakingly wild landscapes.It started out with a robbery then got fast paced and a little cheesy and I thought it was gonna be a bloody comedy.But I gave it a chance and it started to get more interesting and I ended up liking it.The only part I didn't like was all of the actors(except for the British guy)talked with American accents instead of Australian.If you listen really carefully you pick up a hint of their Australian accents, but you have to be listening for it.For someone who enjoys Australian films this was disappointing.

Don't rush out and buy this!

I picked up Rapid Fear (released in the UK as White Panic) for a quid (£1) at my local supermarket, which was a pretty fair price on reflection. It's rather formulaic in showing terrified teenagers being picked off one by one by some unseen foe while trekking through the forest, and how a bunch of delinquents are forced to co-operate and come through the ordeal as better people. OK to fill an evening when there's nothing else worth watching, I suppose. There are some anomalies too, for instance, it's clearly supposed to be set in America (the opening bank sequence shows US dollars being loaded into a bag, and most of the accents are American), but the vehicles are right-hand drive, because the film was produced and shot in Australia. One plus point is the attractive and delightfully named actress Belle Shootingstar. (Co-star Dragista Derbert also has a cool name!)

oh my freaking god

OK well...there is not much i can say about this movie. except of course that it sucked. the acting was so bad i thought i was watching a high school film or a very creepy and awful soap opera. the tint on the movie was a mix between an action and a self help book. well no in fact it should have come with a book that read "when you are done watching this movie, read me so you wont cut out your eyes." and what kind of horror film doesn't kill anyone? i mean come on. (the closest they got was the blonde chic.I'm sorry, i could only write this as crappily as i could to show you how stupid this movie was. it was like the breakfast club only outside. that is all. oh wait i just got informed that it needs to be longer and my friend wants to write things so...let it begin! tony- Alright so right off the bat this movie made my eyes bleed...this would be my second time watching the film only because i had to show yzma just how much this movie reeked...it was like soiled cheese that died at the bottom of a dirty close hamper. I don't even think that that gives justice to how poorly this movie was directed and put together. They should of at least gone alittle more into things about the insaine asylum or you know make the crazy ppl be zombies...But no its all about the money and no one really wins but the baby pretty boy... If they had just made this into a porn at least then their would be some interest to keep your eyes open...No the only thing that kept me awake through this movie was my mom and i making fun of it....anyway i must go for now! Hope this shows you how poopie the movie was... Have a nice day and beware the RAPID FEAR!!!

This garbage nearly broke me

I write reviews on here so others can get a heads up, but this pushed me to the point. It looks and the sound is edited like a old Bruce Lee flick. That guy who played Nick, his father have to have paid for this, to get his 30 year old butt out the house. Every single thing about this movie is wrong.

Decent adventure movie

These small budget movies can go two ways, good or bad. This one comes off pretty good. I mean once the budget is raised and the actors are paid there probably isn't much left to work with. Here a ex-felon is recruited to take 6 juveniles up river to scare them from the forces of nature. Add a unseen villon and egos clashing the movie is set. Though the movie never really gets going to a climax it does stay on a good level of suspense. Made in Australia made to look like America is a mark against it but it makes up for it. I would recommend this movie on a boring night for viewing.
