A short film about a mechanical beast that attacks two rag doll creatures as they scavenge the ruins of their world won best in show in Siggraph's 2005 Computer Animation Festival. In addition to Shane Acker's beastly short 9, the festival selected two jury-honors winners from 560 entries for exemplary use of computer-generated imagery and animation and for compelling storytelling.
