Nick Lyon, the director of the forthcoming film, Bullet, isn't happy that Robert Rodriguez' American United Media (Aum) and FUNimation Entertainment have taken the film away from him. But a judge has ordered an injunction against his interference in the completion of the film, and now Lyon is taking the dispute to an appeals court. Bullet is a film that stars Danny Trejo (Machete, Breaking Bad) as a cop who takes the law into his own hands when his grandson is kidnapped. Rodriguez is a producer. Lyon (Punk Love) signed on to write and develop the project in September 2012.

On the latest "America's Next Top Model," Tyra busts out Super Smize again, while the girls are given an awesome ad campaign challenge.
Tyra drops by the house to make the girls walk out by the pool, then have an impromptu jam session, or something. And she's wearing reflective crossing guard tape and her Super Smize and it's really, really dumb.
Tyra then assigns the girls superhero names: Illuminata, Gam-a-Tronica, Chameeleone, Era-descent, Charismia, Excite-to-Buy, Andro-Genia, Zagalicious, Fiercely Real, Next-Doorsia, Exotica and 30-Never. Some are obviously better than others.
Challenge
They have to create an ad campaign for Very.com, an online British retailer. The theme is love and luxury and it's U.S. vs. U.K. They are actually doing it all (make-up/hair, wardrobe, props, casting a male model). It's a pretty cool challenge, actually.
The UK girls go '60s mod, while the Us team does Punk Love with Azmarie as the leader.

Stephin Merritt is a hilariously unhappy little man in a hat who spends all day sitting in a gay bar, writing songs. He is also, quite possibly, a songwriting genius; able to bring the swooning melody and lyrical bite of a Cole Porter or Irving Berlin, updating it with a modern, arch sensibility that is completely Merritt's own. He has been playing with his band, The Magnetic Fields, and more importantly, his main collaborator/longtime best friend Claudia Gonson, for nearly twenty years now, and their shining artistic statement (so far) has been the instant classic album 69 Love Songs (1999), a three disc epic of sixty-nine brilliant songs about love, spanning the range of life, from heartbreak to ecstacy, with song titles like "Papa Was a Rodeo," "Punk Love," "Absolutely Cuckoo," "Your Love is Like Jazz," "The Luckiest Guy on the Lower East Side," and much, much more. And the thing...

Yet another interesting tidbit about the many faceted stars we know and love is that Viggo Mortensen was once married to Los Angeles punk icon Exene Cervenka of the band X. Although she later sued him over child support, there are some nuggets online that show them together in a previous, happier time. They were also in the 1987 movie Salvation! together.
Filmmaker Modi Frank, of Modivation Films, used footage of the couple horsing around an old train yard for both a promo/music video for Cervenka's first solo album, Old Wives' Tales. You can see a very young Viggo romping with his young wife side-by-side with her ex-husband and X bassist/singer John Doe and his new wife Gigi Blair to the tune of "He's Got a She." Later, Modi used some of the same footage for the song "Whiskey for Supper" by Cervenka's later band, Original Sinners.

Interview by Kayley Thomas
2010 is the year of the Lindberg. The 33-year-old actor’s no stranger to the business, mind you. If you didn’t catch his early debut in Black Circle Boys, that’s a little horror flick you’re probably going to want to check out regardless. You might also have seen him in an episode of The X-Files or Buffy the Vampire Slayer once upon a time. Or maybe you remember him as Jesse in The Fast and the Furious or O’Dell in October Sky? With starring roles in films like Punk Love, The Other Side of the Tracks, and Push, plus recurring roles in recent years on Supernatural and CSI: NY, Chad’s been a busy man, but rest assured, you’ll be seeing more of him soon. He’ll be joining interviewee Sarah Butler in the upcoming I Spit On Your Grave as well...

ROME -- Branko Schmidt's The Melon Route (Put Lubenica), a Croatian drama about a people smuggler who protects the sole survivor of an accident for which he was responsible, was the top film at the first Drake International Film Festival, taking home the award for best film plus the best actress award.
The festival, held near Naples in the city of Caserta, began June 23 and concluded Saturday.
John DeBellis was selected as best director for his work on The Last Request, a comedy about a son who leaves seminary to carry out his father's last request to have the family name carried on. The DIFF Future Award went to the New Zealand horror spoof Black Sheep, a comedy about a genetic experiment that turns sheep into bloodthirsty killers -- set in a country with more sheep than people.
Mei Sun, who played the sole survivor of the smuggling accident in Route, won the prize for actress, while the actor nod was given to Punk Love star Robert Blanche.
