“White Collar,” the police procedural that concluded on USA in 2014, made its debut on Nielsen’s weekly streaming rankings with 717 million minutes watched during the April 22-28 viewing window, landing in the No. 8 position.
The decade-old show’s viewership bump is thanks to what has recently become known as the Netflix effect; the streaming service has seen big success licensing titles with high episode counts that have previously finished their runs on other platforms.
But unlike “Suits,” the best example of this for its historic Nielsen run in summer 2023, “White Collar” took three weeks to make it to the chart, having been added to Netflix on April 1. This is unusual, as titles like “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and “Killing Eve” made the overall Top 10 immediately after their Netflix debuts as well, while “White Collar” hasn’t even been on the list of the Top 10 acquired titles before now.

The finale of Shōgun pushed the series to its best showing so far on Nielsen’s streaming charts.
The FX-produced Hulu series had 608 million minutes of viewing time for the week of its finale, April 22-28. That’s a 45 percent jump from the prior week and Shōgun’s highest total in the nine weeks it has made the top 10. Its previous best was 513 million minutes for its premiere week, which featured the debut of two episodes.
Fallout claimed the overall No. 1 spot for the third straight week, the first such streak for a show on Amazon’s Prime Video. The series had 1.53 billion minutes of viewing, down by about 41 percent week to week. Its three-week total is now a little over 7 billion minutes.
Netflix’s water-cooler drama Baby Reindeer saw a 36 percent jump in viewing, climbing to 915 million minutes from 673 million a week earlier. Several original series also made...

Jason Gideon leads one of the best behavioral units in the world. Together they help other FBI teams identify serial killers using psychological profiles. When all the evidence leads to a dead end, Gideon's team, made up of people with very different personalities, goes in search of almost invisible clues.
So began the first season of Criminal Minds, which will soon return with Season 17. We know who you've all been waiting to see in the new chapter of the Bau team's investigation – almost everyone's favorite, Dr. Spencer Reid, played by Matthew Gray Gubler. Everyone knows that CBS is America's most watched network, and it's home to many extremely popular long-running shows. The example that we all know for sure is The Big Bang Theory, and of course, how can we live without NCIS, right?
But before they became the most popular shows in the world, there were many other amazingly crafted projects on CBS – the ones that are still considered genre-defining or groundbreaking pieces of television.
Here are 5 old but gold shows you need to watch right now to feel the brilliance of days gone by.
1. Magnum, P.I. (1980)
Missed Tom Selleck's mustache? Well, time to check out the young version of it. In Magnum, P.I., the actor plays Detective Thomas Sullivan, a former Navy lieutenant and Vietnam Special Forces veteran who resigned his commission at the age of thirty-three. The main reason? To move to Hawaii and live the life he never had when he was younger.

No matter how many years pass, fans of Criminal Minds will forever remember Alex Blake and the impact she had on the show. Looking back at the many characters who have appeared on the procedural but didn't have as long of a run as the original cast, Alex Blake, portrayed by Jeanne Tripplehorn, was definitely a fan favorite and the most welcomed.
Even though the actress has since left the show, longtime viewers are still eager to see her back on their screens. Whether it will be a return to the show or some other project, it will be just as exciting and gripping.
Why Did Jeanne Tripplehorn Leave Criminal Minds?
There was no scandal behind the actress’ decision to leave, but a mutual agreement between her, whose contract was going to end, and the executives of the series. Instead of a big exit, Tripplehorn wanted for Blake to have a nice,...

“Killing Eve” made its way onto Nielsen’s weekly streaming rankings for the April 15-21 viewing window, enjoying a similar effect as titles like “Suits” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” that have seen increased popularity upon being added to Netflix despite having concluded years ago. The BBC thriller was watched for 719 million minutes in its first week on the streamer, landing at No. 8 on the chart.
But an interesting aspect of the series’ surge is the demographic breakdown of its audience. Per Nielsen, one third of “Killing Eve” viewership this week came from people age 65 and above, representing the largest concentration of viewers. That’s a surprise for a series perhaps most famous for the sexual tension between its two female leads, with one being a psychopathic assassin.
At the top of the chart this week was “Fallout,” which hit 2.6 billion minutes watched in its first full week availability after debuting with...

Netflix’s Baby Reindeer entered the streaming top 10 in mid-April, and given the continued buzz around the series, it’s likely to stay around for a while.
The show drew 673 million minutes of viewing for the week of April 15-21, according to Nielsen’s latest streaming rankings. That was good for third place among original series and ninth among all titles.
Prime Video’s Fallout had a second straight huge week, if not quite as big as its first. It had 2.62 billion minutes of watch time, off a slight 10 percent from its opening week, which was the best single week for a Prime Video show since Nielsen began its streaming rankings almost four years ago. It’s also the first show that doesn’t stream on Netflix to have back-to-back weeks above 2 billion minutes of viewing.

Elias Voit is not making things any easier for our favorite profilers just because he’s behind bars.
The first trailer for Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 2, aka Criminal Minds Season 17, has arrived, and it’s juicy!
Voit isn’t letting his encumbered status stop him from annoying the hell out of the team; he’s also getting in on the crime-solving action.
The trailer definitely gives us Hannibal Lecter vibes.
Everyone who watched Silence of the Lambs knows that Lecter was a crucial, if shocking, ally to Clarice Starling as she solved one of the bureau’s most difficult cases.

CSI: Vegas and NCIS: Hawai‘i got canceled within one week of each other this season, marking disappointing results for two top TV franchises. It's always hard to say goodbye to shows that have been with us for over a decade. We literally become friends with the characters and love them as if they were family.

Aisha Tyler is singing the praises of the upcoming season of Criminal Minds: Evolution. In fact, she’s so confident in its quality, she even told TV Insider (while promoting her Disney+ series Monsters at Work), it’s the “best season of television we’ve ever made.” And yes, “that includes all 16 previous seasons” of the spinoff and its parent show Criminal Minds. Tyler said Season 17, premiering Thursday, June 16 on Paramount+ with its first two episodes of 10, is such a standout because, “It’s in the fact that we moved to streaming, and we’re able to be more authentic and more grounded and more gritty… And the show is longer, so we’re able to spend more time in the emotional moments and also in the horror moments. The episodes this season have been extraordinary.” Tyler returns to the director’s chair for Episode 7, “which is an absolute doozy,...

In a shocking move that is shocking nobody this afternoon, Paramount Global President and CEO Bob Bakish is out. In are his (hopefully) crack replacement team. The “Office of the CEO” gang consists of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon CEO Brian Robbins, Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios President and CEO Chris McCarthy, and CBS President and CEO George Cheeks.
Paramount Global reported its quarterly earnings on Monday, hence the timing. Company executives, those who remain at least, will host a conference call with Wall Street analysts (and the media listening in) at 4:30 p.m. Et.
“Paramount Global includes exceptional assets and we believe strongly in the future value creation potential of the Company,” Shari Redstone, the chair of Paramount’s board, said in a statement. “I have tremendous confidence in George, Chris, and Brian. They have both the ability to develop and execute on a new strategic plan and to work together as true partners.

Law & Order: Organized Crime fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief. According to Deadline, the series is finalizing a 10-episode renewal deal... with one significant change.
Instead of airing on NBC, Law & Order: Organized Crime will stream exclusively on Peacock, making it the first primetime series NBC has moved exclusively to its sister service.
This is excellent news for Organized Crime, which may work better as a streaming-only series for several reasons.
The deal is only for ten episodes, but don't be too disappointed. While that might be terrible news for a broadcast show, many streaming-only series have eight to ten episodes per season.
Besides, if fans flock to Peacock and burn through those ten episodes in record numbers, NBC/Peacock could decide to order more episodes. [Note: We don't know yet if all ten episodes will be available at once for binge-watching or whether they will be released on some schedule.]

Thankfully, we survived another frustrating hiatus.
It feels like it's been forever since Chicago Pd was on our screens, and the hiatuses have been frustrating.
But alas, Chicago Pd Season 11 Episode 10 is coming in hot with a ... spins wheel ... Hailey Upton installment.
By now, we're accustomed to the character-centric focus. We don't have to care for it, but we're used to it.
Despite annoyance about the formatting, the midseason premiere may feature most of the team.
Given that it has been a while since Chicago Pd Season 11 Episode 9, a refresher may be necessary.
"Somos Uno" was the rather abrupt and severely underwhelming conclusion to Dante Torres' storyline with the cartel wife.
While his canoodling with Gloria was a shocking development that arose when introduced, the storyline got shoved out of sight until it resurfaced and wrapped up abruptly, making many of us wonder about the necessity of it in the first place.

The newest ‘Law & Order’ spin-off has seen consistently better ratings on Peacock than on linear NBC to this point.
Eliot Stabler is coming back for at least one more ride. The popular character portrayed for 25 years by actor Christopher Meloni is the star of “Law & Order: Organized Crime,” the latest member of the franchise originated by Dick Wolf. “Organized Crime” was stuck in limbo while waiting to find out if it would be renewed for a fifth season or not, but it appears that NBCUniversal has finally made a decision. There is no denying that any animated project is as good as its voice-over artists. Luckily, the Dcau has never come across an ‘L’ when it comes to finding the right person to voice the characters. They have Andrea Romano to thank for that. The Goddess of Casting has worked across many, many projects as a casting director, including Popeye and Son, Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League Unlimited, and so on.
Kevin Conroy’s Batman in Dcau’s Batman: The Animated Series

Paramount has rebooted Criminal Minds, and starting in November 2022, we were once again immersed in the story of the Behavioral Analysis Unit (Bau) agents as they grappled with criminal minds and personal lives. Now, the story has taken an even darker turn, it has been released in a streaming format rather than the traditional TV broadcast one, and the show itself has been subtitled as Evolution. And before we knew it, a new season was already in production (the second season of Evolution and the seventeenth since Criminal Minds premiered on CBS in 2005).
While fans wait in anticipation, the upcoming Season 17 has already had its fair share of details and speculation. The imaginative and groundbreaking prison drama "Oz" is getting a short sequel from its original creator, according to series star Kirk Acevedo. The actor who played inmate Miguel Alvarez for six seasons of the HBO series took to X/Twitter this week to spread the word about "Zo," a YouTube short film from series writer-creator Tom Fontana. According to Acevedo, the short is set to star Dean Winters, who played ultra-violent prisoner Ryan O'Reily in the show's original run, and Lee Tergesen, who played Tobias Beecher, an attorney-turned-inmate who was forced to adapt to harsh prison conditions. Christoph Shrewe, whose credits include "Mr. Robot," "Criminal Minds," and "Fear the Walking Dead," will direct the upcoming short.
Acevedo notes that "Zo" will be about "Oz after prison," and an accompanying promo image includes the phrase "What happens once you're free?" What's more, the actor noted that if the film gets "good buzz,...

Crime procedurals have thrived on primetime television for over two decades, and several of them are still streamed frequently.
Popular shows like Law & Order, Law & Order: Svu, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and NCIS have existed since the 1990s and the 2000s. Due to their popularity, these series have created multiple spinoffs and revivals.
Almost every network has at least one crime procedural on their primetime TV lineup. NBC has an entire night devoted to the Law & Order Universe. CBS has more procedurals than we can count, and they recently added another with Tracker, led by Justin Hartley.
While crime procedurals are still one of the most-watched genres, has the primetime TV lineup become overstuffed with them?
Let's discuss why some of them have thrived for years and the potential upcoming scheduling issues.
