Sex & Nudity

  • You briefly see a man pull down his trousers mocking Captain America. The caption is cut before his pants go down.
  • Captain America kisses a woman (she pulls him in).
  • Very mild - There is some flirting and the occasional kiss, as well as romantic tension between two of the main characters.
  • Many women dressed provocatively at some showcasing and tour events. They dance non-sensually but have cleavage and underwear briefly shown while dancing. In one scene, soldiers request for the girls to come out so they can see them.
  • A private flirts with Steve and she moves closer and closer and then she grabs his tie and pulls him in and kisses him. This makes Peggy really jealous.
  • A woman sensually approaches Steve and forcefully kisses him as sultry music plays in the background.

Violence & Gore

  • Captain America doesn't hesitate to kill the enemies.
  • A man is shot and you see a splurt of blood.
  • A spy bites into a cyanide pill and dies, foaming at the mouth.
  • There are lengthy fight sequences featuring crunchy kicks and punches, as well as scenes of gunfire in which people are killed, but this is mostly without bloodshed, although there is brief sight of a small bloody hole in a man's back. A brief spray of blood is also visible when a man hits an aeroplane propeller
  • Captain America throws several men out of a plane. They clearly do not have parachutes and fall out of view to the apparent deaths
  • Audiences see loads of fisticuffs, firefights and explosions far too many to detail here. And unlike some superheroes, Cap doesn't hesitate to kill his enemies, since he considers himself a soldier.
  • Schmidt guns down a civilian, spattering bright-red blood. We also see a small exit wound in the man's back. Another unfortunate ends his screen time in the blades of a propeller. (There's a brief blood spray visible.) Folks fall from great heights, and one man is sucked into a weird energy vortex. Another is crushed by part of a building, and we see a bit of blood on his head.
  • Those are modern-tinged gory scenes in the middle of a movie that otherwise has the vibe of a 1940s serial: The body count is high, but the squirm factor low as scores of characters are simply zapped out of existencewith a bloodless blue poofvia futuristic weapons powered by the cube.
  • Steve suffers some serious pain while being injected with the serum, as his screams are heard.

Profanity

  • "H*ll" is used at least 5 times throughout the movie.
  • Captain America says "Who the hell are you" twice
  • There is a muffled use of "shit" at one point.
  • Senator says "Jesus. Give that kid a sandwich"
  • "Son of a bitch" is said in an admiring way.
  • "*ss" is said
  • "God" is used as an exclamation three times.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A man is shown smoking a cigar.
  • A scene takes place in a bar and many people drink and make reference to alcohol.
  • A man complains that because of a medical treatment he can no longer become drunk.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The red skull's appearance is a skeletal red face.
  • The movie takes place in the the 1940's, and show nazi symbols and other stuff that might offend certain people.
  • The action sequences are intense; the Red Skull is designed to frighten.
  • At one point, Steve in an enclosed chamber undergoing an experimental treatment with intense radiological exposure. Steve screams in pain, but immediately insists he can take the treatment and demands that the experiment continue. There is considerable sparking of electrical equipment and Steve is silent at the end, but he is revealed to be fine with the body enhancement treatment a complete success.
  • A short shot of a man being thrown into a propeller and blood splattering.
  • Many people are disintegrated. This could frighten some.

Violence & Gore

  • Red skull rips his mask off revealing his mutilated face, this could be disturbing to younger audiences
  • Captain America is on top of an escape pod and is fighting a HYDRA goon and kicks him into the propeller. There is a small amount of blood spray.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Near the end of the movie, Steve makes the difficult decision to crash-land the Red Skull's plane when he cannot find any other way of keeping it from automatically firing its weapons and destroying the entire East Coast. As he goes down, he is talking on the radio to his love, Peggy. She is seen crying after the transmission cuts out. Extremely emotionally tense.
  • During a mission on a train, a misfire causes Bucky to be thrown out the side and is seen clinging on for dear life. Steve reached out to grab him but the metal brakes and Bucky screams as he falls to his presumed death.
  • There is moderate threat, including a scene in which a man is tied to a laboratory table and forced to undergo experimentation on his body. There is a brief scene of horror when a man peels back his human face mask to reveal a reddened skull underneath
  • At the end of the movie, it is revealed steve has been asleep for almost 70 years, this can be upsetting to audiences because that means that probably all of Steve's friends and allies are dead and he says, "I had a date", presuming Peggy's death which can be upsetting as well.
