For people that enjoy a slice of irony, The Divine Eugene Hicks is a perfect roller-coaster of mockery. Eugene... acutely makes use of witty diatribes to the camera, so often used in Guy Ritchie's cinematic abortions, but with a perfect tongue-in-cheek cynicism. Anthony Hurley intuitively creates a full character that we instantaneously connect with, through his thoroughly foul persona, oozing testosterone and charisma, not forgetting a slight Bateman-esqueness. From this fabulously written character and Richard Mylan's perfect delivery, this is a short far better than many made. If 10 equates as excellent, then Eugene... is fully deserving.
