Nigella Lawson is set to host her first British TV show since her court case with her former assistants. The 55-year-old chef - who last appeared on UK screens with 'Nigellissima' in 2012 - will present 'Simply Nigella' on BBC Two, a series focusing on 'a new pared-down approach to cooking and eating', rather than her usual decadent take on dishes. Nigella said: ''It's about food that makes our life easier, that makes us feel better, more alive and less stressed.'' The cook appeared as a judge on 'The Taste' on Channel 4 in 2014, but this new show will mark Nigella's first...

Et's Kevin Frazier went behind the scenes of The Taste to see what the show has in store for its return Thursday and do his own judging of the chefs' dishes.

Renowned chefs Nigella Lawson, Marcus Sammuelsson, Ludo Lefebvre and Anthony Bourdain serve as mentors/judges on the ABC show, which averaged 3.7 million viewers last season -- more than double that of Top Chef.
What makes The Taste different from other food competition shows is that the mentors/judges taste the dishes blindly to help determine their teams. Kevin did his own blind taste test, choosing Marco as the winner, which left Ludo a little bitter.
"I'm not sure you have a palette, bro," Ludo blurted.

The cooking competition "The Taste" returns tonight to ABC for its third season. The series introduced blind tasting of food to reality competitions--judges don't know whose food they're eating or even what's in the dish. It also brought Anthony Bourdain to a big, bright, glossy ABC reality show. The star of Travel Channel's Emmy-winning "No Reservations" and now CNN's "Parts Unknown" seems like perhaps the last person to gravitate to a "The Voice"-like competition for food, but when we talked Wednesday, one day before he was heading to Madagascar for "Parts Unknown," he was clearly, unabashedly enthusiastic about the series, which he also executive produces. When I asked about whether skeptical fans have now warmed to "The Taste" and his participation, Bourdain said, "I honestly don't think about. It's always a quality of life issue for me. Am I having fun? Am I working with people I like?...

If you ask The Taste mentor Ludo Lefebvre, there is more pressure on him than fellow mentors Anthony Bourdain, Marcus Samuelsson or Nigella Lawson heading into the ABC cooking competition's third season, which premieres Dec. 4. "Tony, Marcus and Nigella have nothing to lose — they are losers already," Lefebvre, who mentored the winning season-two cook, bluntly told The Hollywood Reporter during a recent set visit. "Me, I win. I need to defend my title." (Season one's winning mentor, Brian Malarkey, is no longer with the show.) Lefebvre added that he has a target on his back this

Nigella Lawson isn't exactly getting first-class treatment lately. According to reports, the celebrity chef, 54, was stopped from boarding a British Airways flight from London to Los Angeles last Sunday. While a rep for Lawson would not comment on the situation, Britain's Daily Mail reports that one reason for her denied entry could stem from her explosive testimony during a fraud trial against two former personal assistants in December, during which Lawson admitted to having used cocaine and cannabis in the past. Britain never pursued legal action against her over those revelations. But under U.S. law, foreigners can be denied...

My Life Is In This Spoon!
Welcome to The Taste. A Us reality TV import, which brings together X Factor ridiculous silliness, Voice-style ridiculous seriousness, a healthy dollop of Nigella Lawson and just about gets away with it. Just.
The concept is simple. 25 cooks serve up one single spoonful of their best dish, the three judges pick four people for their team, the rest go home. Then the judges and their teams go head-to-head and you can probably figure out the rest, if you've watched a single reality TV show over the last 20 years.
Cooking on TV used to be very different. Playful daytime TV larks (Ready Steady Cook), cold, hard competitions (old Loyd Grossman's MasterChef) or niche Food Channel 463 snooze-telly (456 Beef Dishes from Somerset). These days, it's primetime entertainment and big business.

Nigella Lawson's former aides Elisabetta and Francesca Grillo will appear on tomorrow's (January 7) edition of ITV's This Morning.
In a pre-recorded interview the pair, who were recently found not guilty of fraud relating to a Charles Saatchi company, will discuss the trial for the first time with Phillip Schofield and Christine Bleakley.
The sisters - who had been accused of fraudulently spending £685,000 between 2008 and 2012 on credit cards and taxi accounts without authorisation - will reveal what it was like to live with the chef and their feelings on being part of such a highly publicised court case.
The duo will also discuss their opinions about the impact the trial will have on Lawson's life and career, after she was forced to admit to having taken cocaine during the course of the case.
Francesca said: "I think maybe we won the case but definitely she had the most support from the public.

Nigella says opposing counsel presented ‘distortions’ of her personal life. Find out how she’s moving on from the drama.

Nigella Lawson: Trial Was ‘Mortifying’
“Mortifying” was the only way Nigella could describe her trial, as she claimed the lawyers presented “distortions” of her private life, rather than portraying her in a fair and accurate light.

House of Cards rises again, Will Ferrell plays bingo and one lippy TV anchor man signs off and another dons his pyjamas
What 'viral' meant in 2013
'Tis the season to be jolly – and we've got a merry selection of videos this week to put you in the holiday mood. There's been a big increase in the number of people who have stopped sending expensive Christmas cards this year and turned to video instead to express their greetings. Former Wncn anchor Penn Holderness, and his wife, the actress Kim Holderness, couldn't resist putting on their Christmas jammies for a rap video, which also features their children, Lola and Penn Charles. Penn has just left his job to join forces with Kim to start a production company in Raleigh, North Carolina. With more than 3 million people viewing their Christmas effort on YouTube, it could be the best business ad they will ever make.

There’s all kinds of drama going on in Nigella Lawson's life these days, and it turns out her former assistants aren’t guilty of fraudulently spending $1.1 million of her money.
According to a report, Francesca Grillo and Elisabetta Grillo are innocent of the allegations levied against them, and they told the court that Nigella authorized them to use the cash in order to hide her own cocaine use.
The Grillo’s lawyer Richard Cannon told press, “They are naturally relieved after a long, hard fight played out in the gaze of the world’s media.”
Lawson and her former husband Charles Saatchi were thrust into the limelight after he was spotted choking her outside a restaurant in London earlier this year.

Nigella Lawson's courthouse nightmare underscores several things, one of which is being very careful in who you let into your home to work for you and also the notion that one can do drugs recreationally versus habitually. Many people unwind with a drink or a drug of their choice and are not "addicts" or afflicted with the addiction disease. The illegality of drugs is what separates a legal drink from a line of cocaine. Most people who try and use various drugs will never become addicts. But when you are famous, like Nigella, the celebrity chef who has been making headlines in the fraud trial of her former assistants, Francesca Grillo and Elisabetta Grillo, charged with allegedly defrauding Lawson...

Nigella Lawson and Charles Saatchi are one step closer to making their divorce official.
The celebrity couple met at a hearing in London's High Court that reportedly lasted little more than than a minute. During the hearing, District Judge Anne Aitken gave the couple a decree nisi, which is the first stage of a divorce.
So what comes next? After waiting six weeks and a day, Saatchi, 70, and Lawson, 53, can be granted a decree absolute. After that, their marriage will completely be over. Considering the fact the two separated in June and seem to mutually want this split, waiting that time shouldn't be too hard.
Saatchi filed for divorce from Lawson after 10 years of marriage last month. The news came after photos of him seemingly choking her appeared online. He still stands by the fact that those pictures were misleading.
