However, while the much-accused Lythgoe is looking at a trial next year, his former fellow defendants are now off the hook, at least tentatively. On “So You Think You Can Dance” season 18, “Challenge #1: Music Videos” led to the ousters of two female finalists: Avery Gay and Olivia Alboher. Then in “Challenge #2: Broadway,” two male contestants got the boot: Roman Nevinchanyi and Braylon Browner. That left six contestants to compete in “Challenge #3: Movies”: Madison Alvarado, Anthony Curley, Mariyah Hawkins, Easton Magliarditi, Jaylin Sanders and Dakayla Wilson. So what happened when they left the stage behind and headed for the big screen?
“It’s time to pull up a chair and grab some popcorn because it’s movie week,” says Cat Deeley at the start of the episode following a “Breakfast Club”-esque cinematic hip-hop dance routine with the top six portraying students in Saturday detention. But just barely escaping detention last week were Anthony and Dakayla, who were in the bottom four but survived the dance-off.

According to the combined predictions of “So You Think You Can Dance” fans who have made their forecasts here in our predictions center, Easton Magliarditi went into the top 10 of season 18 as the front-runner to win and as the fan-favorite who should claim the grand prize. He had some trouble in “Challenge #1: Music Videos,” though, so it might be surprising that leading up to tonight’s “Challenge #2: Broadway,” he’s still the man to beat according to our users. Check out our odds for tonight’s episode here, or scroll down to see our winner predictions.
Contemporary specialist Magliarditi has wowed the judges with his technical abilities on the show, but they thought he looked somewhat uncomfortable performing with a group. More than half of those contestants got the boot, leaving 16 dancers to pair up and learn a duet dance from Hooks. The judges then had to make the grueling decision to cut six to leave us with the...

“So You Think You Can Dance” returned in 2024 for its 18th season with some major changes and a new format. Below, meet the top 10 contestants who braved the initial auditions to advance to the main competition.
This season of “Sytycd” started with three episodes of solo auditions in which the contestants performed in their specialty styles. Three judges then decided their fates: Latin ballroom competitor and “Dancing with the Stars” champ Maksim Chmerkovskiy, “DWTS” and “Sytycd” alum Allison Holker, and her fellow “Sytycd” All-Star Comfort Fedoke. They selected the best 35 to advance to the next round where they learned and performed a routine by celebrity choreographer Galen Hooks. From there, only 16 went on to perform in the duets. And then one final cut narrowed the field to 10 participants.

Many dancers auditioned for a chance to compete on “So You Think You Can Dance” for season 18. Dozens were sent through to the choreography round by judges Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Comfort Fedoke and Allison Holker. But only 10 can advance from here.
“Dancers, are you ready? Judges, are you ready?” asks host Cat Deeley to enthusiastic cheers at the start of “The Final Auditions: Top Ten Revealed.” Allison then tells the dancers what they can expect, including the fact that this round of auditions will only last one day and will end with the selection of the top 10 dancers moving on, which seems to take many of the contestants by surprise. “Those 10 of you, who move forward will experience the challenges of actual working dancers, and let me remind you, only one of you will win $100,000.”
