Phil was on target for the G-Men. Big blue win first Super Bowl!
blanbrn27 January 2007
Super Bowl XXI turned out to be a surprise for many, not so much as to who the winning team would be, but how the game started and finished with a surprise MVP. The first quarter exploded with 17 points as the multi talented John Elway moved the ball at will against the Giants defense, his scrambling abilities helped avoid the L.T. pass rush. Yet Giants QB Phil Simms turned out to be the hero of the game as the second half the Giants offense went with play action and screens with draws that controlled the clock and the game. This method of play opened the passing game up for Phil as he was as accurate as ever finishing 22-for-25 with three touchdown passes and yes he was the much deserved game MVP! As for Elway his magic and talent was stopped in the second half by the Giants talented defense, as Denver managed only 27 yards rushing the entire game! The final score was Giants 39-20. Overall a good super bowl with one of the best performances ever from a QB, it was Phil's special day he brightened with perfection!

First Full Super Bowl I Have Ever Watched
shelbythuylinh12 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It is the very first full Super Bowl and in the being an 12-year old there and in the finally getting introduced to Pat Summerall and John Madden and how they became later over in the parts of my NFL beginning.

NFC takes another one and would remain that way in until 1998. And how it began with their reign in 1985 there. Phil Simms NY Giants QB was 22-25 and was MVP.

John Elway and Broncos got harassed by the G-Men defense led by Lawrence Taylor and Harry Carson there. Score 39-20 G-Men.
