Last year we ran a schedule of every TV/Cable network schedule we could find that could be construed as Horror or Halloween related for the month of October. Let’s just say it proved useful for our readers and even for our staff when they were looking to find something to watch, wanted to program their DVR’s or didn’t want to miss out on some great “live” Horror. Isn’t there something about having a movie fed to you on TV as opposed to watching it on Blu-ray or DVD or streaming? We may not like commercials, but the randomness that you can associate with a TV program itinerary is novel. It removes a little bit of control from the audience who is all to concerned with being in control these days (just look at the reasons behind publishing a piece like this).

Although he’s been acting professionally for most of his life (Fango-worthy credits include Blood Wars, Brotherhood Of Blood, Night Skies, Wishmaster 3 and Hoboken Hollow), in the past few years, Jason Connery has expanded his horizons to directing. He’s now in preproduction on the mixed-martial-arts actioner The Philly Kid for Warner Bros. and producer Joel Silver, but Connery’s first three films have all been science-fiction/horror stories. Pandemic dealt with a sinister disease outbreak in a small town, The Devil’S Tomb was about a military squad that unearths you-know-what and now Area 51, produced as one of the After Dark Originals and premiering this Saturday, February 26 on Syfy, explores a series of unfortunate events at that legendary military site.

A decade after his well-received venture into the vampire genre, Cold Hearts, writer/director Robert A. Masciantonio is back with a decidedly more hardcore horror outing, Neighbor. The filmmaker sent along some exclusive and nasty photos (see ’em below) and info on the film, which will have its premiere at this summer’s Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal.
“Neighbor was shot in only 18 days in January and February of this year in cold Philadelphia and its suburbs,” Masciantonio tells Fango. “We had so much fun making this film, and having it debut at Fantasia is an absolute thrill. It’s going to be amazing seeing the finished product with the core audience! I hope they love our Girl as much as I do.”
Said antiheroine is played by America Olivo, who’s amassing quite a horror résumé with the Friday The 13th redux, Blood Wars and the upcoming Bitch Slap and The Last Resort.

Genre fave Tony Todd told Fangoria Radio last week that the team behind Final Destination 4, due in theaters August 21 from Warners/New Line, has yet to hire him to reprise the role of mortician Bludworth (pictured) that he played in the initial trilogy. “They sent me the script a while ago,” Todd said of the David (Final Destination 2) Ellis-directed 3-D sequel, which opens with a spectacular racetrack disaster. “But they have yet to bring me in.”
Todd, who appeared on screen in the first two Final Destination movies, came in at the 11th hour to do voiceover work on the third film to insure series continuity, so the scenario may repeat on the new movie. Regardless, the actor has plenty to keep him busy. Todd begins a seven-episode arc on Fox’s 24 this season (he also appears in the 24: Redemption two-hour movie airing this Sunday), and Bloodwars, in...
