Anime with a very sexy leading female character
chrichtonsworld30 May 2006
Just this week i discovered several anime series on the internet. There are so many. But this one caught my eye because it is about martial arts! Currently i have seen 6 episodes of the 13 episodes made in this series. Usually in these kind of stories the main character is always male. In this story there is a female lead. This young girl is very charming but at the same time very emancipated, she takes charge when she feels like it! Boy or girl, if she wants to fight you she will fight you. And she is extremely attractive, nice face, big boobs and nice panties. You will see a lot of her behind since the skirts she is wearing are very very short. Still the story is exciting and has some great action and a lot of humor.Sonsaku Hakufu (the girl's name) is destined to be the great ruler of all, but is not aware of her powers until she encounters several strong opponents. When she fights, most of the male opponents make fun of her, because she is a pretty girl! But when they get beaten by her their laughter turns into surprise and fear. Then they realize that she is a very powerful girl. Most of the story is about these situations and her development as a fighter. The animation is great, but sometimes and i mean sometimes you really wish that they wouldn't show the panties all the time, since it is really distracting! (Ignore this previous remark, i realize i never can get enough of beautiful women in white panties!!!!) Watch it!

All eye candy, no story
ironhorse_iv22 March 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Yes, this is one of the worst anime series, I have ever saw. I saw only numerous panties, crotch, boobs and ass shots with no story. Even soft core porn had better plots. Wait, did I just type that? Yes, I did. Yeah it's stuff like this that made me lose interest in anime. Ikki Tousen meaning Strength of a Thousand, is known in the United States as Battle Vixens. The story is loosely based on Romance of the Three Kingdoms, written by Luo Guanzhong in the 14th century which is a historical novel set amidst the turbulent years near the end of the Han Dynasty and the Three Kingdoms era of Chinese history, starting in 169 CE and ending with the reunification of the land in 280. I really like Romance of the Three Kingdom related stuff, from the novel to Dynasty Warriors to Sangokuden Gundam so I gave this a try. This just took the story and didn't give it justice. At times I feel like I'm watching a Hentai and not a retelling of that folklore. It took something like Romance of the Three Kingdoms and just puke out a high school martial art conflict drama full of vomit. In the Kanto region of Japan, seven high schools are waging a turf war for territorial supremacy: Nanyo Academy, Kyosho Academy, Seito Academy, Yoshu Academy, Rakuyo High School, Gogun High School, and Yoshu Private School. The fighters of each school bear the sacred jewels called magatama, which contains the essence of warriors from the Three Kingdoms era of Ancient China 1800 years ago, as well as their fates. A young skillful female fighter named Hakufu Sonsaku is destined to stop the rivalry and bring peace to the school, but it won't be easy because the rival schools and even her own school are after her. This was first written for a manga series, and then finally an anime series. The number one thing I remember about the manga series is finding manga pages of it ripped out and stashed away in the bathroom of my local Books a Million. The anime series is god awful, but it's a bit sexy at times. Still, it might be too much. First off, it's has too much Ecchi or fan service, which means too much erotic fantasy and sexual innuendos. The series dealt with every sex fetish you can think of, bondage and torture, golden showers, and violence against women. I'm not counting the countless rape scenes that makes me sick. Anime like this gives anime a bad name and is what makes people think anyone who likes anime must be a pervert. It doesn't insult regular anime so much as it blurs the lines and misinforms newcomers to the genre, much like how a person new to American cartoons might be misinformed by, say, Fritz the Cat or Dirty Duck. The show is badly animated anyways. The girls have overly proportioned bodies. It's funny how all the boobs behave like cantaloupes attached to mattress springs, and have a wet, almost metallic shininess no matter what type of lighting there is. Have you ever seen a 14-17 year old girl with breasts bigger than her head? Don't get me on how bad the characters are. The characters are shallow, dumb, and unpleasant. The main character is so dumb, they made her clumsier and stupider to squeeze more tits and ass for the fapping fan boys. Where the hell was all the adults? I mean, is this some apocalyptic future where everything is run by teenagers? The story confused the hell out of me! The plot makes no sense and most of the episodes are just filler episodes with nothing going on. Let me get this straight, while other good series can barely get a second season, this garbage gets four seasons. I will bangs head against the wall. The English dubbing is badly done. The main character sounds like the annoying character De De from Dexter's Lab. It's not like she has anything smart to say, anyways. If you going to watch the series. Just watch the subs. The only thing I like about the series. The background music was pretty amazing. I know sex exist in all forms of media. This is not something unique just to Japanese culture. Still, why bother having sexual content that doesn't go all the way? I say, either be a mainstream anime with the occasional fan service sprinkled about, or go full-blown Hentai. Anything that tries to go down the middle of the road will just end up being a Frankenstein project combining the worst of both.

a bad turn from manga to TV.
leahr00112 September 2007
the books where good. published by tokyopop, they were (a little) less pervy than the rest(at least, the pervyness was more justifiable). the story was deep, and well written out. but when it came out as a TV series, the anime was blotchy, scenes past to quick, a lot of talk, and a really, really ditsy busty main. i mean, she was ditsy in the book(dated worse...), but it was funny. the TV series was just ditsyness when it wasn't really needed at all. the story was not very well done. there were very few references to the magenta thingies and the past. i enjoyed it enough, but the whole uniform falls apart thing? one kick and everything falls off, save for conveniently placed bits of cloth? we arnt that young anymore. and since this is aimed for an 18+ audience, surely some more grown up approaches would suffice.

You want gratuitous panty shots, big bouncing breasts and hot, scantily-clad girls fighting? Then "Ikki Tousen" is the show for you!
dee.reid11 August 2011
Warning: Spoilers
(This is NOT anything like "Baki the Grappler," "Dragon Ball Z," or "Street Fighter.")

I'm going out on a limb here to say that I've never seen a piece of Anime' (Japanese animation, for the uninitiated) like "Ikki Tousen," because I haven't. I've never seen so much attention being paid to the undergarments of young women in a cartoon before. But on the other hand, "Ikki Tousen" does offer up a semblance of plot by having the young women wearing those sexy undergarments street-fighting each other in excellently choreographed street fights.

Apparently, "Ikki Tousen" (also known as "Battle Vixens" here in the United States and over in the United Kingdom) has characters and a story loosely based on the epic Chinese novel "Romance of the Three Kingdoms," perhaps the single most important and influential piece of classical Chinese literature ever written. I have no idea how close or how loosely "Ikki Tousen" follows the classic novel - having never read the books for myself - but I can say that the creator of the original "Ikki Tousen" graphic novels, Yuji Shiozaki, loves to show off the exposed flesh (known as "fan-service" to some folks) of hot young girls fighting to the death.

In Japan's Kanto region, seven rival high schools are battling each other for supremacy. The competitors (or "fighters," or "warriors") are the students of each school, who wear jewelry, usually an identifying earring, that is infused with the spirit of an ancient martial arts warrior. Koukin Shuyu is one such fighter at Nanyo Academy, though from his shy personality and social ineptitude you'd never know that he's one of the school's top-ranked martial artists.

Unfortunately, skill does not run in the family, which is where his ditsy, well-endowed cousin Hakufu Sonsaku comes into the picture. Much of the show's awkward sense of humor comes from Hakufu's interactions with her cousin, such as when she undresses at a hot springs and he has to hide his "excitement" from her, or when Koukin's younger-man-hunting, fun-loving cougar of an aunt, Aunt Goei (Hakufu's mother), often thrusts them both into sexually suggestive situations.

The meat of the story involves Nanyo Academy's attempts to avoid being taken over by rival schools, and the role that Hakufu Sonsaku is supposed to play in their struggle. Since every fighter is infused with the spirit of an ancient martial arts master, they are (apparently) inextricably linked to that martial artist and are thus destined to experience that same person's fate (i.e., if an ancient master died in battle, then the person his/her spirit is attached to is fated to die in the same manner, as well). And there's a slew of promising street-fighters thrown in Hakufu and Koukin's way: muscular giant Gakushu, the one-eyed submission wrestler Shimei Ryomou, "basics"-obsessed Katokon (who has also caught the eye of that cougar Aunt Goei), the green-haired Ryofu, and the deadly school-girl-uniform-wearing Ukitsu.

The animation for this series is quite pristine, with some traces of CGI to enhance certain portions of the overall quality of the picture; it's easy to see why such pristine animation was needed here. "Ikki Tousen" is not particularly heavy on plot and for a production such as this, I don't think plot is especially necessary, since that is not what will draw in new viewers. What will draw them in are hot girls fighting to the death. Every brawl that takes place during this series involves plenty of gratuitous panty shots, big bouncing breasts, and battle-torn clothing that leaves little to the imagination; and of course there's plenty of nudity (see the episode at the hot springs for further "reference"). As you can see, this is clearly Anime' for adults, or horny teenage fan-boys.

This viewer will also note that even though this series is pretty light-hearted throughout, it does take a decidedly darker turn around the middle (mostly involving the ultimate fate of Hakufu Sonsaku), which can turn an otherwise fun, action-packed experience into a bit of a downer. But don't worry, be rest-assured that everything will turn out all right in the end for everybody.

"Ikki Tousen" is an engaging series with not much plot, but if big bouncing breasts, underwear shots and hot, curvaceous females fighting are your thing, then you've found your most titillating fight Anime' ever.

Focuses more on fanservice than story.
zackeryburgedd31 July 2011
Alright I'm gonna say this, but this show is not that good. The story is just stupid and it keeps showing us unnecessary fanservice. You can't go five minutes without seeing breast bouncing or panty shots. It gets annoying. As for the story in the kanto region of Japan seven high schools are fighting for territory. Each school carries a jewel called the magatama which contains the essence of the Three Kingdoms to decide the schools fate. I'll let you decide how stupid that plot is. The characters are unlikable and while the animation is great, it's wasted by drawing fanservice. Now maybe this is not for me. For me I don't mind fanservice as long it's not in your face and it doesn't get in the way of the story. But if your into fanservice in anime instead of story I guess I can recommend this to you.

all "flash" no substance *mild spoilers*
Midgarmerc25 April 2007
Warning: Spoilers
So many people recommended this show to me saying that it was good and full of fan service. Well me being one to enjoy the occasional fan service gave Ikki Tosen a whirl... big mistake there. Ikki Tosen is a 13 episode action anime loosely based on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms Chinese novel. Pretty much there's a city where all the high school students wear megatamas (earrings resembling a half of the yin yang symbol) that possess the spirit of an ancient Chinese warrior (from the novel no less). Their fates are tied with the spirit in their jewels so if the soldier died in the past its gonna happen to this kid. You see this town has a serious problem with its educational systems. first of all there are no teachers at the schools, second all the schools are constantly trying to conquer the other, and lastly every single kid is an expert fighter, oh and on that note this show is so unoriginal that they actually decided to call the kid's "destined" to fight "Fighters". So these kids end up fighting each other left and right with their apparent parental consent as seen with one of the only adults seen in the entire season. Hakufu's mother which brings us to the main character Hakufu Sonsaku who is blessed to be destined with the spirit of Sun Ce a super powerful Chinese warrior who apparently killed the current big baddie's spirit warrior long ago. God I'm done with plot summary because frankly thats about as deep as it goes, afterwards people fight panties are shown and nonsense is spoken. Ikki Tousen is a show that revolves around 2 things: Fighting and soft core porn. Heres how a fight scene will pretty much always carry out if it has a girl in it: fight for 5 seconds, invisible attack, girl loses 95% of clothes, keeps fighting, someone wins. fan service is acceptable and sometimes encouraged for comic relief but in this case it is literally used to boost the ratings up. The producers knew that this show would suck monkey nuts so they decided long before that no fight would be devoid of its excessive panty shots and covered breasts. The fights themselves are also underwhelming mostly involving random kicks, punches, and throws, anything to flip the girl upside down or get her leg up to show her rump. Then there's the other half of the episode, which involves a lot of taaaaalking and trust me this is some boring talking, why? because they talk about the story plot which doesn't make any sense and is just stuck up its own poop shoot to realize it. Then there's that one green haired girl who is a bad guy sort of. OK she is the epitome of an anime slut and thats an understatement. she has sex with just about everyone making her not very likable already but the director decided to give her emotions all of a sudden. This is the girl that paralyzed the side-kick girl and then proceeded to fondling her underparts then had sex with the guy she was keeping captive, beat him up had sex with the main bad guy went back to the prisoner guy and then had sex with her lackey then her lackey gets offed and then she sacrifices herself... so we're supposed to feel what exactly for this character? Then there's the utterly useless cousin of Hakufu he says his job is to protect her and some characters say hes stronger than he looks but in actuality he loses just about every match he fights in. O speaking of matches this show's second half degrades itself into a tournament anime show (you know? fight after fight leading up to big boss man) and lo and behold something happens to distract the main character from the tournament (just like DBZ or G Gundam or Naruto chunnin exam arc). The point I'm trying to make here is that this show is bad, like Kappa Mikey bad like Bobobo bad except it isn't trying to be funny. The characters are cardboard cutouts (i.e. the main character is a ditsy hot anime girl who has spontaneous brain farts of wisdom) the story is terrible (we've already see the Romance of the 3 Kingdoms plot in all 868 Dynasty Warrior games), not even the intro or closing music/credits are good. The dub is also bad, although Hakufu's dub made me giggle a bit. There is a 2nd season currently but don't hold your breath, the first season ended with only a few incoherent questions about the future. God I hated this show, the worst part is that I actually waited 13 episodes for something even remotely interesting to happen but I never saw it. This show is bad bad bad BAD! 1/10 I sleep now

Sex and violence? Oh yeah!
vampyrebat6664 January 2009
How could you not like this show? It's so totally over the top. Apparently Ikkitousen is Japanese for "Schoolgirl Upskirt Pantyshot Karate Double D-Cup Deathmatch!" Some people complain that the story doesn't make any sense and this is just a mindlessly violent softcore porn series, but to those people I have just two words.

"Well, duh!"

Of course Ikkitousen is just a mindlessly violent softcore porn series. What, was there some misunderstanding here? You thought it was a serious drama about high school violence in modern day Japan, or a contemporary retelling of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms? Oh grow up! Didn't you see the opening credits? There's more fanservice in a minute and a half of Ikkitousen's opening credits than in ten years of Dragonball Z episodes.

And the artwork is amazing! Now this is what bishōjo is supposed to look like. The people who draw Ikkitousen have apparently seen actual human females with large breasts, so they don't just draw boobs as huge, freakish balloons stuck onto the front of their female characters, unlike so many other animes I could mention. Even the violence is realistic, at least by anime standards. None of the characters throw energy balls or fly through the air, or any of that sort of nonsense. Instead there is a lot of taekwondo style kicks and karate strikes. One of the girls does a juji-gatame (cross armbar) that looks like it came right out of a judo textbook, and another fight ends with a tiger suplex. Awesome!

So if you like the idea of a cartoon with with bone-crunching, blood-spraying martial arts action coupled with realistically rendered bouncing breasts and constant panty-shots, then Ikkitousen is the anime you've been waiting for. Turn off your brain and enjoy!

Excel Saga meets Dragonball Z
godzilla17911 December 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Without giving any spoilers...if you can watch an anime about a retard with big breasts fighting in a tournament oriented series about feuding school districts, then this is the box set to buy! If Hanes or Fruit of the Loom needs a new spokesperson, then any female in this series will do...overdone panty shots every 30 seconds is a bit much. The animation is average, sound is average and the dub is pathetic. The series is barely watchable if you have absolutely nothing else to do, but the story is tired and has no direction. Even the intro and outro music is butt-awful....even for anime standards.

Honestly, my favorite part of the series was when the middle break for advertising shows the returning segment....if you time it just right, you can make a fart sound just as her skirt lifts to show the logo on her butt cheek.

Bottom line is, if you enjoyed this...you really need a girlfriend.

Ikki Tousen: Great Guardians
Tweekums30 March 2015
Warning: Spoilers
These comments assume viewers have seen both earlier 'Ikki Tousen' series and know the main characters and their back story.

'Great Guardians'; the third part of the Ikki Tousen franchise sees the return of Housen Ryofu; an antagonist who had apparently died in the first series. She isn't the woman she once was though; she has lost her memory and after some initial distrust becomes friends with Hakufu Sonsaku and her compatriots. There are also a couple of entirely new characters; Chubo Sonken, who claims to be Sonsaku's younger sister and the mysterious Genpou Saji, a young fighter with magical powers who is the series main antagonist.

Things start off fairly lightly; there are still fights but for the most part characters are getting on better than usual and there are no real threats. These early episodes are more comical in tone. Later on when Genpou Saji plans are put into action the threat level increases dramatically as she uses her powers to possess the various fighters meaning even ones closest friends could be a threat.

It might just be because I've got to know the characters over the previous series but I found this series to be the most enjoyable to date. There is still plenty of fighting and gratuitous clothing damage but somehow it seemed more fun. Genpou Saji proves to be a good villain as she is a sympathetic character rather than an unlikable baddie. The fact that anybody can be possessed means we can't think of anybody as being on the side of the good guys even the good guys themselves! Chubo is a nice addition to the story; the fact that nobody seems to know about her means she too has an air of mystery; she certainly appears nice but only later in the series do we learn whether that is her true character or part of an act. The returning characters are a lot of fun; most notably Hakufu Sonsaku who is as likeably ditzy as ever. As well as the main series there are six new mini-episodes; the fact that they are titled 'Battle Tour Club: Sexy Cosplay♥Dangerous Jobs♥" tells one all one really needs to know; there is little in the way of story but lots of fan service! Overall an enjoyable new 'Ikki Tousen' story.

Ikki Tousen: Xtreme Xecutor
Tweekums23 December 2015
Warning: Spoilers
The fighting school goers of Ikki Tousen are back for a fourth season. This series opens with a girl named Bachou Mouki to go to a school to avenge her brother's murder; she defeats many students but can't get near her target. To improve her skills she asks protagonist Hakufu Sonsaku to become her mentor. Her training hasn't got too far when all the fighters are invited to a competition; it turns out to be a trap; a masked stranger, Kentei, intends to eliminate the fighters! Hakufu manages to miss the boat, quite literally, when she falls asleep on the train! Eventually she makes her way to where they are being held and gets involved in the fight to rescue the fighters and defeat Kentei.

This is typical Ikki Tousen; if you enjoyed the previous seasons you will probably like this and if you didn't I assume you'll have stopped watching the series some time ago. No time is wasted explaining what is going so things might be a little confusing if this is your introduction to Ikki Tousen. As one would expect there are plenty of exciting fights and quite a lot of fan service… I think there was quite a lot more of the latter as just about every episode includes fights that lead to the girls' clothes disintegrating! The animation is decent enough and the character designs are good; despite the large cast all the main characters are distinctive. Along with the main series there are six shorts that are fairly amusing and include yet more fan service… especially in the end credits that feature the female cast members in a state of undress… typical Ikki Tousen!

Ikki Tousen: AKA Battle Vixens
Tweekums1 July 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Ikki Tousen, or 'Battle Vixens' as it is sometimes called in the west is a series whose reputation precedes it; that is a reputation for violence and fan-service! Set in an alternate modern day Japan school children battle each other in solo combat because they have the souls of ancient Chinese warlords in the coloured earrings they all wear. It appears that their fates are destined to mirror those of these warlords.

The protagonist is the ditzy and busty Hakufu Sonsaku; a powerful fighter who harbours a powerful dragon within her; this makes her very dangerous when it is awakened… for friends and foes alike. She attends Nanyo Academy along with her cousin Koukin Shuuyu; he acts as her protector. Because of her potential danger an order is given to kill her. This inevitably leads to a series of violent fights until the order is revoked. That isn't the end to the action though; in fact after the obligatory hot springs episode the violence increases and it looks as though major characters could die… in fact some do.

Given the series' reputation I was surprised at just how little nudity there was; apart from the aforementioned hot spring episode there was hardly any. There is however a gratuitous number of panty shots is every episode and any time female characters fight you can guarantee that their clothing will suffer major damage. The story isn't too deep but it is fun and there were more laughs than I had expected; mostly due to Hakafu's stupidity! The action scenes are well done and the violence feels real despite the fact that characters have superhuman strength… if somebody is kicked into a wall it is the wall that gets damaged! Given the violence, some of which is of a sexual nature, and the fan service this obviously isn't suitable for younger viewers but it is worth watching for older viewers… if only to see what the fuss is about.

Ikki Tousen... Romance Of The Three Kingdoms with Panty Shots.
juliankennedy2322 November 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Ikki Tousen: 8 out of 10: The term fan service is thrown around a lot when people discuss Anime. Ikki Tousen is the greatest (or worst) example of blatant fan service I have seen outside of a pornographic Hentai.

One could easily watch the first few episodes and could think that blatant and somewhat creepy fan service is all Ikki Tousen offers, but something funny happened I got drawn into the story.

In an alternate universe High Schools exist for fighting tournaments. The students wear teardrops shaped earrings that contain the essence of warriors from the Three Kingdoms period in China (also known as called the Six Dynasties) that followed the loss of de facto power by the Han Dynasty emperors. Each character in Ikki Tousen is predestined to the fate of their respective warrior.

So a history lesson is mixed in between the shots of leave nothing to the imagination white panties. Does that really excuse a grown man watching topless high school girls beat each other up?... Probably not no.

The animation is rudimentary and the episodes can be a touch repetitive. There is also that guy blushing sex humor I despise. Nevertheless, as soon as I start to fail to warm to the episodes something dramatic happens too break the pattern (The lesbian rape in Episode 6 Roku is a particular game changer.) So if you enjoy a good Anime and do not currently appear on any sex offender lists I can highly recommend Ikki Tousen. Give it a few episodes you may be drawn into the history and characterization. Alternatively, you might just be a sick in the head... different strokes and all that.

Ikki Tousen: Dragon Destiny
Tweekums14 July 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This series sees the return to the world of Ikki Tousen with the survivors from 'Battle Vixens' being joined by several new characters. One might be forgiven for thinking this is a spin off at first as protagonist Sonsaku Hakufu barely features in the early episode; instead we are introduced to the fighters of Seito Academy and their unlikely leader Ryuubi; a ditzy bookworm who is apparently destined for greatness… if she can control the dragon within her. As the series progresses it looks as if her school will end up fighting Hakafu's but they end up uniting to fight the evil Sousou Motoku who wants to take the Dragon Gem; an artifact that is believed to help control the dragons found in some of the fighters.

If you've watched 'Battle Vixens', and that is advisable before watching 'Dragon Destiny', you will know what to expect… lots of fighting, lots of girls flashing their panties and clothing disintegrating during the fights! The new characters prove to be entertaining and in the case of Ryuubi and her followers they are likable too. Most fans of the original are likely to enjoy this although some might not like the fact that the fights are more magical now… there is still plenty of bone crunching physical fights though. The animation has improved slightly over the years but there are still some 'wobbly stills' during action scenes. The level of nudity has increased; especially in the case of the six short OVA episodes which are basically an excuse to show most of the female cast without their clothes on… they are fairly funny but very gratuitous… so much so that that the first one got banned by the BBFC! Overall this was fairly fun and worth watching if you like this sort of show.

Amazing Anime

This has great action, an interesting story, and plenty of fan service. NO NUDITY. Anyone who says there is, has not seen the series. If you're a prude without taste, you won't like this. If you're a fun person with good taste, you'll love this.
