This is just to inform IMDb users that the documentary on Robert-Houdin was first released on French TV in 1995, and subsequently on video in french and English language. But above all, it was recently completely remastered, with new editing, and released in DVD format, with one hour's worth of extra footage and features. (release date of the DVD : Nov. 2005) The DVD is in French and English (including chapters, menus, etc) At the time of its release, it was the first documentary entirely devoted to the life and work of Robert-Houdin, "father of modern magic". It features many of his stage tricks involving automatons, presented in 19th century fashion and period costumes and setting.
