Comedian Jerry Seinfeld is celebrating the postponement of the Emmy Awards - branding it an event for "losers". Seinfeld made the comments at his 'Stand Up For New York' comedy night at the city's Carnegie Hall. The star stunned high-profile guests such as former president Bill Clinton as he launched an attack on the awards show, which was postponed for the second time this year on Sunday following air strikes on Afghanistan. He told the audience, "I cannot tell you how happy I am that the goddamn Emmys were not on. "The Emmys are... stupid. They're there so that attention-starved losers can all congratulate each other on having a job." As for Seinfeld's own Emmy experiences, his eponymous sitcom was nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series seven times and won once, while he was personally nominated for acting five times and once for writing, losing on all occasions. His most recent nomination, an Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Special nomination for his I'm Telling You For The Last Time special, also fizzled, putting his record at one for fourteen.
