"A Gift of Murder" looks forward to the 1975 Zuni fetish doll from "Trilogy of Terror," but here serves an ambitious businessman in eliminating his enemies. James P. Duncan (Charles Nolte, also seen in "The Book of Ghouls" and "The Secret of the Telescope") finds his employer's son flirting with his wife Betty (Doreen Denning, also seen in "Black Nemesis" and "Murder in the Mirror"), and his jealous response is witnessed by general manager Torsten Granlund (Greg Prinz). The evening closes with the Duncans opening gifts, when James finds a package with a voodoo doll that can cause injury or even death to anyone he doesn't like. His wife Betty is fearful about whatever he might do, but in sticking a pin into the doll's hand successfully puts his rival out of commission, accidentally catching his hand in the garage door opener. This turn of events has Duncan almost convinced that the voodoo doll really works, and when he learns that his expected promotion was lost to the same rival he dares to see if it can kill. From there, an extramarital affair with his secretary (Gita Ander), discovered by Granlund, leads to another death. The climax disappoints somewhat, but this remains an above average entry for this lackluster series.
