Officer Doug Penhall is playing baseball at high school and is certainly enjoying it. The only issue he has that a few of the students are not happy that he has made the team.
Penhall is shadowing a nery student Johnny Hartman. He too has not been at the high school for long and has a talent at baseball.
He seems to have issues with his father Frank Hartman, maybe both men are hiding something.
Both Penhall and Hanson find out that someone else is shadowing Frank Hartman and he too turns out to be a cop.
It looks like this time Captain Fuller is out of the loop.
This story is a bit of a Hanson lite one. The plot also comes in late in the day. Until then it seems to meander.
The Hartmans are in witness protection with Frank Hartman meant to testify against a mob boss. However Frank does not have clean hands himself and has a history with the cop meant to looking after him.
