- Tony Almeida: [Over the phone] how far out of the city are you?
- George Mason: Why?
- Tony Almeida: Look, I just got off the line with Steve Lawer from District
- George Mason: About what?
- Tony Almeida: Well, LAPD made a possible vehicle match with somebody on our watch list, he wants you to check it out
- George Mason: This is coming out of LAPD? Come on
- Tony Almeida: Well, Lawer doesn't trust their judgment either. That's why he wants you there. Plus, he knows its on your way to Bakersfield. I know you're headed out there to follow up on a lead but Lawer wants this checked out
- George Mason: What's the address?
- Lynne Kresge: Before you go to your press conference, Rayburn wanted me to give you this updated damage projection
- President David Palmer: These casualty figures are higher
- Lynne Kresge: Sir, they've all but ruled out dirty bombs and conventional weapons: they feel we're actually dealing with a nuclear bomb
- Jack Bauer: You really think you're going to take out that building down with three charges?
- Eddie Grant: [Referring to the specific areas the bombs will be placed] it's all in the placement
- Jack Bauer: So what'd make you target CTU anyway?
- Eddie Grant: Why are you asking so many questions?
- Jack Bauer: Nothing. I just want to know what I'm getting myself into
- Eddie Grant: When the time comes all you have to do is keep your eyes open. We'll do the rest
- Jack Bauer: Whatever you say
- Jack Bauer: [Over the phone, pretending to be talking to someone else because his working undercover] Yeah? Did you get my message?
- Kim Bauer: Dad, listen to me
- Jack Bauer: I left it on your phone about an hour ago
- Kim Bauer: I don't have my phone. I lost it. Look Gary flipped out on me
- Jack Bauer: Can you find it?
- Kim Bauer: Find what?
- Jack Bauer: Your phone
- Kim Bauer: Dad, I'm in trouble, I need you to come get me I can't go to the police with this
- Jack Bauer: Where are you?
- Kim Bauer: Well, I'm at a payphone on Spring Street
- Jack Bauer: What's the number?
- Kim Bauer: Dad I don't want you to call me. I want you to come get me
- Jack Bauer: I can't do that
- Kim Bauer: Why not?
- Jack Bauer: Look, why don't you go to Carol's? I'll call you there in the next couple hours
- Kim Bauer: Aunt Carol's?
- Jack Bauer: Yeah
- Kim Bauer: She lives in San Jose, dad
- Jack Bauer: I know where she lives
- Kim Bauer: Dad, you're acting really weird right now
- Jack Bauer: [Before hanging up] look, just go there and for once do what I ask ok?
- Tony Almeida: [Over the phone] you alright?
- Kim Bauer: I just spoke to my dad, his acting all strange. He pretty much hung up on me
- Tony Almeida: Well, his on a job
- Kim Bauer: Since when? I just saw him a couple hours ago
- Tony Almeida: Maybe I can help you out?
- Kim Bauer: Well, it's kind of messed up. I have the police after me
- Jack Bauer: [Over the phone] I need to speak with the President
- Lynne Kresge: I'm terribly sorry, his with the press core right now
- Jack Bauer: Listen to me: CTU's phone lines are down. I need you to give him an urgent message
- Lynne Kresge: What is it?
- Jack Bauer: CTU Los Angeles is going to be blown up within the hour. Wald's group is doing it
- Lynne Kresge: Is this the nuclear bomb?
- Jack Bauer: No, no it is not the nuke. I repeat, it is not the nuke but you need to evacuate CTU and you need to alert a bomb squad
- Lynne Kresge: Wald's crew is planning to blow up CTU Los Angeles. It is a non radiological attack and it is happening within the hour
- Eric Rayburn: Where'd you get this?
- Lynne Kresge: Jack Bauer
- Eric Rayburn: Their hitting CTU to cripple their investigation to divert their attention from the major strike
- Lynne Kresge: I agree
- Eric Rayburn: Has Bauer contacted CTU?
- Lynne Kresge: He couldn't get through. Phone lines are down. Somehow we have to warn CTU
- Eric Rayburn: No we don't. We can't
- Lynne Kresge: What're you talking about?
- Eric Rayburn: If Wald's crew fails, they'll think somebody tipped off CTU. They'll figure out it was Bauer
- Lynne Kresge: Are you seriously suggesting we just let these people at CTU die? Jack Bauer called with specific instructions
- Eric Rayburn: Why isn't he stopping them himself? Because he knows his got to keep his cover intact. He knows if his exposed, he can't get to Wald and we lose our only chance to find the nuke
- Lynne Kresge: This is the President's decision
- Eric Rayburn: Except right now his trying to convince the press it's "business as usual", we've already detained Ron Wieland illegally, we can't muzzle the entire press corps
- Lynne Kresge: We still have to tell the President
- Eric Rayburn: And we will. When his in a position to hear it
- Lynne Kresge: It'll be too late by then
- Eric Rayburn: This is my call
- Lynne Kresge: I don't work for you
- Eric Rayburn: [Over the phone] I understand your the ranking agent on site, is that correct?
- Tony Almeida: Yes sir, it is
- Eric Rayburn: Then I need you to execute an order
- Tony Almeida: Of course
- Eric Rayburn: I want you to copy and transfer your database onto our server: anything related to the nuclear threat. Did you hear me?
- Tony Almeida: Yes sir I did, may I ask why?
- Eric Rayburn: It's "precautionary." Given the extraordinary threat we're facing today. I would like it done sooner than later
- Tony Almeida: How soon?
- Eric Rayburn: By eleven
- Tony Almeida: Sir, the soonest I can get it done is noon and that's shifting personnel
- Eric Rayburn: You have until eleven
- Tony Almeida: Sir, that may not be enough time
- Eric Rayburn: Then you probably should get started
- Tony Almeida: Thank you sir
- Michelle Dessler: What's going on? First the phone lines go down then NSA puts in a rush order for us to transfer all our data on the nuke?
- Tony Almeida: He says it's "precautionary."
- Michelle Dessler: And they would've issued the same order with every other agency
- Tony Almeida: Look into that would you?
- Michelle Dessler: Yeah
- Cam Strocker: [while driving into the parking garage of CTU] I know this isn't a bank: there's nothing to steal here
- Eddie Grant: We're not stealing anything
- Cam Strocker: Then why are we here?
- Eddie Grant: We're fighting a war. We're taking back our country
- Cam Strocker: From who? Who are you people?
- Eddie Grant: [to jack] tell him who we are
- Jack Bauer: We're patriots
- Kate Warner: [Over the phone] did you check the passport information I gave you?
- Ralph Burton: I did
- Kate Warner: And?
- Ralph Burton: And I'm afraid it confirms Reza Naiyeer has had contact with Syed Ali
- Kate Warner: What does that mean? Are you saying Reza's a terrorist?
- Ralph Burton: The authorities need to determine that
- Kate Warner: Authorities? What authorities?
- Ralph Burton: I had to alert Homeland Security
- Kate Warner: What are they going to do? Are they going to arrest him?
- Ralph Burton: I'm not sure yet but until you hear from me please keep this to yourself
- Kate Warner: I have to tell my sister
- Ralph Burton: No, you can't tell her or anyone else for now
- Kate Warner: I can't believe this is happening
- Ralph Burton: I know it's hard but just try to act normal
- Kate Warner: My sister is marrying someone who works with terrorists and you expect me to act normal?
- Ralph Burton: You can endanger yourself and your family if you let anyone know that anything is wrong do you understand me?
- Kate Warner: Yeah I understand
- Lynne Kresge: What're you doing here? I told you I need to speak to the President
- Jenny Dodge: The President wants me to draft a statement anticipating a nuclear event
- Lynne Kresge: And why I haven't heard from him?
- Jenny Dodge: His still on camera
- Lynne Kresge: I told you this was urgent: you are his press secretary, you should have slipped him a note
- Jenny Dodge: I did, ma'am I'm sure as soon as the President can extricate himself he'll call you
- George Mason: [Over the phone] looks like the lead in Panorama City turned out to be real: some kind of lab where they may have assembled the nuke
- Tony Almeida: Based on what?
- George Mason: They found radioactive material
- Tony Almeida: What kind radioactive material?
- George Mason: Their still doing field analysis. I don't know
- Tony Almeida: Was anyone exposed?
- George Mason: Look, their putting on the suit deacon now: precautionary measure. We have three dead bodies. we'll send you photos, fingerprints on them. See if they match anyone on our watch list. I'm going to have to get back to you
- Tony Almeida: NSA averted us to send them our case database. Paula's already on it but I'm getting the feeling that they're keeping us out of the loop on something
- George Mason: It's standard procedure to consolidate data from all agencies
- Tony Almeida: Yeah, well that's just it. We're the only agency they've asked
- George Mason: Look I've got to go. Call Chappelle and tell him what you told me and see what he can find out for you but I've got to go
- Tony Almeida: You sure you're ok?
- George Mason: I'm fine. Bye
- Michelle Dessler: [while in the bathroom] did you finish exporting those files to Division?
- Paula Schaeffer: No, it's in processing now. As soon as they finish uploading, I'll send in the encryption key
- Michelle Dessler: [Before walking away] ok good
- Michelle Dessler: [Seeing her worried] are you alright?
- Paula Schaeffer: Yeah, I was a little nervous before but Tony said everything's probably going to be ok. I grew up in LA you know? I mean my whole life is here, my whole family is here. So if this bomb goes off what does that mean? Everyone's is just going to die?
- Michelle Dessler: No, not necessarily. It depends on a lot of things
- Paula Schaeffer: Yeah that's probably right
- Cam Strocker: [while in a van inside CTU's parking garage] you're going to kill me too?
- Jack Bauer: Not today: just relax. I'm not going to hurt you. I'm trying to stop this thing. I need your help, two cars over there's a large grey SUV I want you to hide under it and wait until we go
- Jack Bauer: [Handing him a schematic of the building] after we've gone I want you to take this and go to security ask for Tony Almeida. It'll show him where all the bombs are located. Almeida will know what to do
- Cam Strocker: What're you talking about? Who are you?
- Jack Bauer: I'm a government agent. I'm working undercover
- Cam Strocker: You work for the government? And you let them kill Danny?
- Jack Bauer: Listen to me, I'm sorry about your friend. I am, but we're in a very serious situation right now so you better get your ass under that car right now do you understand me? Because these guys are going to be back in a minute and if your still here they'll kill you and I won't be able to stop them. Do you understand? The lives of everyone in this building are at stake right now so please get that message to Tony Almeida
- Eric Rayburn: What're you doing?
- Eric Rayburn: [Rushing to speak to the President] it was you wasn't it? You told Jenny to keep the President away from me
- Eric Rayburn: I spared the President from a no win situation
- Lynne Kresge: The people did not elect you to make that choice
- Eric Rayburn: It's too late
- Lynne Kresge: [Before trying to walk away while Eric stands in front of her and grabs her arm] maybe not. Get out of my way
- Eric Rayburn: Don't do this: you do not want me as an enemy, I promise
- Lynne Kresge: Are you threatening me?
- Eric Rayburn: Just giving you some strong advice
- President David Palmer: [Walking up to them] what's going on?
- Lynne Kresge: [after Eric remains silent] Jack Bauer called. He said that Wald's crew is planning to blow up CTU. It's a non nuclear strike which suggests there's a secondary target
- President David Palmer: When is this happening?
- Lynne Kresge: We're not sure, Bauer got cut off
- President David Palmer: Have you contacted CTU?
- Eric Rayburn: That's what we were "debating"
- President David Palmer: "Debating?"
- Eric Rayburn: Right now Wald is our thread to finding the nuke but Bauer hasn't gotten to Wald yet. If we stop Wald's crew they may realize it was Bauer that turned them in. In the mean time, I'm having CTU transfer all their Intel so the only losses would be infrastructure and personnel
- President David Palmer: Those losses are unacceptable
- President David Palmer: [to Lynn] contact CTU immediately
- Lynne Kresge: Yes Sir
- Tony Almeida: [over the phone at CTU] Maybe I can help you out?
- Kim Bauer: Well, it's kind of messed up. I have the police after me
- Tony Almeida: Why?
- Kim Bauer: I didn't do anything wrong
- Tony Almeida: Tell me where you are and I'll have someone pick you up, alright?
- Kim Bauer: [over the payphone] I can't stay here
- Tony Almeida: Can you find your way to CTU?
- Kim Bauer: Yeah, I guess so, I can take the bus
- Tony Almeida: Ok, look, do that, when you get here, I'll help you straighten everything out alright?
- Kim Bauer: [before hanging up] Ok
