A lot of this episode is spent resetting the scene for what's to come, and that makes for a bit of a jarring affair.
The biggest thing to stomach is the sudden collapse of the Matt/Heather relationship, which we as viewers had invested so much in over the last series. But of course Matt being young free and single is more interesting than Matt in a serious relationship for stories moving forward I guess.
It's an ok episode, but feels a bit like the writers trying to paint their way out of the corners they'd put themselves in previously.
