In my review of the last episode I said that '7th Heaven' is still capable of very good episodes, but not consistently, and this is a fine example.
It's decent, it's well-meaning, but it's average, relying on a "oh look, they brought back so and so from a couple of series ago" factor.
Jessica Biel has run her course as Mary, sad to say but I think she has. There's just no more storylines for her, other than tagging along in Lucy's, which she does again here.
They've done a little better with Barry Watson's upcoming departure as Matt, with a nice little storyline here with him dwelling on loves lost.
As for the Robbie storyline - a nice example of character development from where he started, but ultimately weak.
A fine, standard "we're in the the 6th series and in a bit of a rut" '7th Heaven' episode.
