Season 4 started off strong, then got stuck on a rut at one point. And some of the preachiness, became more irritating than it usually is on the show. Also, the dead fish eyes, and monotonous tone of some of the actors, got on my nerves. But the last three episodes, were very entertaining. Especially the season finale. Some things bugged me still, like Matt's hesitation, choosing between Heather, who dumped him like used tissues, last year. And Shawna, who was clearly better off with Brett. As well as Heather's mom way of looking at him, like fresh meat (maybe she had a thing for him too?...) Or Eric's usual way of bullying his way through disagreements. And Lucy being an annoying spoiled brat, for a change... But overall, it was a good two hours episode, with Mary finally coming to her senses, regarding Robbie. Whom I'm not sure why they kept around all this time. And Ruthie's cute little crush for that boy. I even liked Simon's storyline, which is an achievement on its own, as I always thought his character got dull after season 2. To me this marks the beginning of the best part of the series, with season 5 and 6 leading to my favorite moments and episodes of seasons 7 and 8.
