In true '7th Heaven' style this first episode of the 7th series is used as a retcon of cetain things the writers over the break obviously thought didn't work. So the super serious relationship between Ben and Mary gets pushed towards the rocks, the less serious relationship between Lucy and Kevin has the ante uppped. Oh, and we get more "who sleeps in which bedroom?" drama. How many more times '7th Heaven'?!
Once you wade past all of that it's not a bad episode, with Mackenzie Rosman acting pretty much everyone off the park, partly because her character seems to say the things the audience is thinking.
Clearly we are heading towards Mary's departure (Matt is now a reference point rather than a presence) and more of Lucy being neurotic. Joy.
The chimp is great though.
