Lois the Loose Cannon
Hitchcoc29 January 2015
Lois and Clark return to her home town. She has been unable to reach anyone in the town and is suspicious. When they arrive the place is a ghost town. The go to the home of a doctor and watch as a dog dies before their eyes. When they enter the guy's house, he is lying on the floor, having passed out. They visit an old friend, an elderly lady and she warns them to get out of town. Everyone is hostile and angry with them. No one can explain why everyone has left. Previous to this the episode opened with a man in a type of protective suit throwing things through people's windows after breaking them. Clark wants to investigate but wants Lois out of there. Of course, she immediately gets herself in trouble (that's what happened to nosy women in the fifties, right Lucy). Anyway, there is a secret and it is, as usually the case, pretty easy to explain. Of course, we have to accept the fact that no one was ever informed that horrible things were going on in the town. No phone calls or people leaving to call the state authorities. Anyway, it's a pretty good episode if you don't think too much.

Haz-Mat Suit, Poison Gas Cylinder and a Cave
biorngm21 October 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Review - The Deserted Village When the opening scene has a guy in a post-war hazardous materials suit walking around a deserted town complete with matching footwear hurling rocks through people's windows, it peaks interest enough to watch. The two townsfolk, Dr. Jessup and Miss Tazey, trying to save the day all by themselves are not doing the best job, as they repeatedly rebuff Clark and Lois, who are willing to help. When poison gas is noted by Clark with the doctor's dog dying, Clark ask more questions and gets nowhere. The cave provides more clues to be investigated with an analysis of drill core samples. In fact, the cave is the place where the entire town meets to settle the mystery of the deserted village. In the tradition of early fifties subject matter for television writers, a hydrogen bomb conversation couldn't be far away. I wonder if the population left due to threats, or disappeared in a more, unhealthy fashion. Footage of the town buildings and the seaside sand roadway added to the mystery and authenticating the village location. Maudie Prickett is a welcome sight in this episode as she has numerous credits to her long acting career. The show is worth watching only for the one-on-one spats, all too familiar, between Lois and Clark. Too many questions arise for an adult to be satisfied with the results, but for younger minds, go with it and enjoy, though I did miss Mr. White and Olson.

Warning: Spoilers
Hydrazite used to make hydrogen bombs? Notice Superman does not have the cores when he flies to Washington. Kent teases Lane: a little bird told me and sometime I will let you know who the bird is.
