"Dreadful Sorry Clementine" was a good intro for me in initially watching "Alias Smith and Jones"

After years of knowing about this show through some promos and reading about it, I finally got to see an ep of "Alias Smith and Jones". I also knew about the suicide of Pete Duel not long after this ep aired so I was glad to see one with him in it. Anyway, the two former outlaws encounter one Clementine Hale (Sally Field), a childhood friend who wants them to swindle a banker named Winford Fletcher (Rudy Vallee) who sent her father, also former associate of his, up the river. So they enlist the help of conman Diamond Jim Guffy (Don Ameche) for their plans. But Fletcher has other ideas...This was quite an entertainingly clever and amusing intro for me on this series especially when I also saw such good character actors like Jackie Coogan, Buddy Lester (very funny as a drunk), and Keenan Wynn in tow. So on that note, I recommend this ep of "Alias Smith and Jones".
